    TBI no start

Hello all. This morning when I started my truck it shut itself off within 20 seconds. Hasn't turned over since, it just cranks and cranks like its getting so spark or fuel. I poked around and didn't see anything abnormal, I set a spark plug against the alternator bracket and watched as I cranked...

    Coolant temperature sensor.

Thanks for the replies everybody. My truck dosent have a MAF , but I did warm the engine and try to unplug each sensor one at a time. The o2 sensor unplugged let the truck start fine, but it still fell on its face.

    Coolant temperature sensor.

Hey all, a few weeks back I posted about a startup issue. From all my research it seems to be CTS. But I cant confirm. Truck runs fine cold, once warms it loads up, hard to start, rough idle, too much fuel to drive. The CTS in my truck snapped into two parts. Luckily it didn't damage the...

New problem, Can't find the culprit.

Quick update. Yes, I set the timing properly. Saturday night we went to the county fair. After a few hours when It was time to go home, got in and fired it up. It ran like shit, so I let it sit for a minute, This was the first time it happened during the nighttime, I noticed the dash lights and...

New problem, Can't find the culprit.

Hey all. 1987 GMC V2500 here. 350 out of a 94 Chevy, with the TBI and accessories from the 87 motor. Original TH400 with a new control modulator, and accumulator piston. 115k miles on the body, and trans. I'm real happy with the truck right now. To the point that I'm ready to start working on...

    Getting the TBI running again

Even with a clogged fuel filter, I don't think it would cause the spray to stop altogether, unless it was crazy bad. Maybe it's a bad ground, not letting signal get to the injectors. Hopefully you can fire that old bitch up on your days off. If nothing under the hood seems to help, maybe the...

    Getting the TBI running again

Hey Stew, I looked at your 88 project thread, and through this post. Just want to say, Congratulations on buying an awesome truck! I have an 87 350, TH400, 4:10 gears also. So I can safely say, you made a good choice. That TB looked yucky, You said you tore it down, soaked it, and rebuilt it...

    Do you recognize this sound?

Yeah I feel silly. Alternator bearings. Thank you guys. I jumped to conclusions like a noob. Lol I sprayed around the gaskets on the tb and intake, to my surprise it dosent seem to have a typical vacuum leak. I finally got a tiny flat head so i could adjust the transmission control modulator. I...

    Do you recognize this sound?

The idle is high because the tb gaskets need changed. The noise is never constant, it just comes and goes at low rpms. Ill try the alternator in the morning.

    Do you recognize this sound?

Hey all, Please watch this short video, and let me know what it sounds like to you. From what I've gathered it's a clogged lifter. ...::: http://youtu.be/cQ30dc_-qHo :::... This is a SBC from a 94 pickup, I paid $300 for it. The previous owner said "I think it was rebuilt 30k miles ago"...

What have you done to your square lately??

Today I... Tore the internals out of the tailgate, brass brushed off rust causing it to seize, replaced the main rivet on handle arm with a nut and bolt with some rtv to keep the nut in place. Greased all the contact points and springs on each end of the arms. Put washers behind then latch...

    Am I missing something?

Hey guys. I own an 87 an recently put a used 94 350 in it. I used the top and front end parts from the old motor. The motor before it ran really smooth until its death, but this new one is fighting me. The problem is from a stop with motor hot or cold, it bogs down a bit and picks back up, same...
