High oil pressure after replacing pump

Allright, then things seems to be as normal as they can get. Not sure about the exact miles of my truck. Says 86k now, but not sure if it actually is 186k. Interior is pretty nice. Only real wear is the lack of cushioning of the foam on the driver side of the bench and the rubber on the brake...

High oil pressure after replacing pump

Im thinking the same, but also that high pressure doesn’t necessarily equals good flow? If, say, the oil filter was clogged, the pressure would still be high, but flow would be poor? Will the gauge peak even more if pressure was 80? Or does it stop at approx 60 no matter how high psi is? Like...

High oil pressure after replacing pump

Thanks. Heres a picture of a cold start today on high idle. Medium idle drops it to just over the 60 psi mark. About 10 degrees celcius in my garage. Stays like this for the most part until been driven for maybe 20 minutes or so, then the idle drops to about 45 when in gear at a stop sign. Still...

High oil pressure after replacing pump

Hi guys, My truck has had a leak from the oil pan gasket for some years now. Finally dropped the pan and installed a new fel-pro 1-piece gasket. At the same time i replaced the rear main seal and also the oil pump and pickup because why not when the pan was down. Put new 10-30 oil in, same type...

    Extremely squeeky rear brakes

Last year I repleced some brake lines and hardware related to the rear drum brakes on my 85 C25. At the same time I replaced the shoes as I saw that they had not been installed correctly by a previous owner. The drums were fine and not replaced. After this I’ve started having extremely squeeky...

Ignition Timing for First-Generation GM V-8 Engines

Hi guys, Been working on getting the timing and carburetor adjusted correctly on my 1985 C2500. The truck originally had the California emissions package but this has been removed and replaced by an Edelbrock 1406 and performer intake + long tube headers. First: the timing marks only goes up...

    LMC tailgate mat

Anyone tried this from LMC? Not easy to get a feel for the quality and fitment of it. It says no trimming necessary, but does not specify if it for long or short beds. Pictures? https://www.lmctruck.com/accessories/bed-tailgate-accessories/cc-1973-87-bed-mat-and-tailgate-mat-protect-your-truck

    Loss of power and shaking

I guess its time for an update. Replaced the rotor, distributor cap and cleaned the carburetor. Result: truck never ran better in my ownership! Much better throttle response, more power and better acceleration, especially uphill. Im calling this solved (as of know )

    Loss of power and shaking

Tried sucking on the hose, but did not see any movement. Should it be enough just with normal human lung capacity? As the issue seem to get worse the hotter the car gets and with load on the engine this could make sense. Edit: connected a pump to to vacuum advance, and its verified OK. I’ve...

    Loss of power and shaking

You mean the cap needs to be loose or off?

    Loss of power and shaking

Not sure… How can I verify this?

    Loss of power and shaking

Pulled the distributor cap and pulled out the rotor also. Coil measured OK according to the Haynes manual. Did not seem to bad in there.

    Loss of power and shaking

Thanks a bunch! I will be checking the cap and rotor today and see. I hope the specs are listed in the Haynes manual. I’ll probably replace them anyway as they are original to the car as far as I know. Next step will be the vacuum gauge and maybe a carb rebuild if it doesnt solve the problem.

    Loss of power and shaking

Thanks. How does one properly connect a gauge to the intake manifold?

    Loss of power and shaking

The last couple of trips I’ve experienced some issues with my 85 C25 (350+400). The truck has very limited power above 30mph and shakes more the the faster you go. Kind of lags, and does not have even power distribution. Runs rough and probably misfires. Never had any issues with this...

Proportioning valve vs. load sensing valve

Just for closing this case for now, i bled the whole system again with approx 1,5 quarts of brake fluid. Also bench bled the MC again while it was in the truck. Problem seem to have vanished for now, but will keep an eye on it. If it happens again there must be a leak somewhere.

    Verify defect fuel sending unit

Thanks. Looks like dropping the tank is the best alternative for me, if needed. I will be checking the wires to and from the sending unit (if I can find them). Pink wire from the dash, through the firewall and all the way back to the tank switching valve? From there it changes to tan, and then...

    Verify defect fuel sending unit

Hi guys, Original dual tank setup. Right side tank fuel gauge peaks at 3 o clock when selecting that tank. Removed the chassis ground and worked everything with the wire brush, then reattached. Still same problem. This verifies that the fuel sending unit inside the tank is faulty? Check my...

Proportioning valve vs. load sensing valve

Well, I started from scratch again and bled all the brakes. I managed to get the rear brakes working again, but still a huge amount of air in the system. I noticed a little «volcano» erupting in the front reservoir in the master cylinder when i pressed the brake pedal. I disconnected the lines...

Proportioning valve vs. load sensing valve

Seems like theres different opinions on that Yep, rain and snow has gotten the better of us i southern Norway the last couple of years. Recommend you travel north the next time - nature is at another level. Also spare parts for these kind of vehicles are available, but often from the states...

Anyone have any document or exploded view on How the load sensing valve works inside?

Proportioning valve vs. load sensing valve

Ah, OK! Anyone with other thoughts on the problem? Could it be wrong cylinders in the rear?

Proportioning valve vs. load sensing valve

Thats the thing. Some people say this and other says the brakes got better after removing it. There even was a GM service bulletin to remove it. Do you know the load capacity for when it was triggered?

Proportioning valve vs. load sensing valve

Thanks. My bad, but the pedal is not going to the floor, but as far as it normally do. I did take notice, as there were a little sticker on it, but it seems like this spins freely with maybe two positions. Plan was maybe to delete the whole load sensing valve.

Proportioning valve vs. load sensing valve

Been doing some brake work on my truck recently. Had some issues last season and recently replaced all the hardware, shoes and cylinders on the rear wheels. Also replaced the master cylinder and the two lines to each wheel since the old lines where so stuck in the cylinders I had to grind them...
