Window only rolls up - Is this the right diagram?

Yeah I figure it's something like that. I just installed a new plug because the old one was done for. With each wire labeled it should be easy enough to pinpoint the problem. Nice for any future problems too.

Window only rolls up - Is this the right diagram?

I have been looking through google images, but I can't seem to come up with a wiring diagram for just the driver's power window switch. One that is color coded so you can be sure. For an 87 R10 single cab truck. It's the one that has two switches and is a rectangle not a square. I'm trying to...

Which coating for a long waiting period?

Some of them were yes, but your initial insults which brought the whole thing on, were not. Either way the question was answered in post #2, it's epoxy. Which may not be the best idea because then you'd have a bunch of stuff installed which now has to be masked for overspray when you finally do...

Which coating for a long waiting period?

I guess you're trying to say something. I don't think anyone knows what though.

Which coating for a long waiting period?

There was no need for any further information. If someone can't answer the question merely from the information I provided in the OP, nothing I else I can say will be able to help them. Reading comprehension isn't all that great among some members lol. But that's anywhere.

Which coating for a long waiting period?

You really need to read and try to understand the thread you replied to. Yes I'm a paint and body newb. For some reason, you think this must mean I "don’t know a thing about paint and bodywork". Please cite specifically where I said anything like that. As for the paint thickness, that's...

Which coating for a long waiting period?

The reason for asking these question is clearly stated in the OP. I wanted them to get all the dents out, and then I bring it home and work on it. When I'm done, then they paint it. This isn't something weird, you see primer trucks sitting around all the time. Also driving around. I just wanted...

Are these modern carburetors a big improvement?

I bought a 70's truck to fix up, and I figured it would be nice to have the best possible fuel system. It didn't come with a carb, and I know some people like to tune their own carbs and I thought "Hey! That could be me"! Most of my previous experience with carbs has been negative, but this was...

Save Money On New Vintage Gauges this month

Ah. In that case, I'll probably go with a digital gauge, a factory a gauge, or a custom gauge. Accuracy and ease of use at a glance is important to me. But thanks anyway for the help!

Which coating for a long waiting period?

Well the body shop will be handling it all, because that's the one thing I don't like doing myself - Paint and body work. I'll leave that to the skilled professionals. So I'll just ask them, I'm sure they'll know what you can do with whatever they'll be using. To me it's well worth the money to...

I believe so. I wonder if we could figure out exactly which sending unit would add +10 psi to the signal... If we knew that, then you could even add a little "-10 psi" to the gauge face. Like those RPM gauges that have x1,000 on there, since they only show single digits. Cause hey, why not. It...

Save Money On New Vintage Gauges this month

Can't post a pic right now, but it's whatever setup the stock 1987 truck would have come with. Just a sending unit and a wire. Everything worked great and went right in place but the engine doesn't make enough psi to move the gauge unless you're getting into it. Then it does, and it shows the...

This may have been covered already, if so please ignore this, but it's less about "want" and more about need. EDIT - Read the rest and yeah it's been covered.

And if this company was selling a 0-60 psi gauge, I would buy one. I like the look of their gauges, and my 0-100 psi gauge is kinda useless to me. So i'd be willing to buy theirs since it closely matches the gauges I already have. But I think the issue is that nobody is making 0-60 psi...

Are these modern carburetors a big improvement?

Sounds like the aftermarket carb might be the better purchase, since people who have mastered the quadrajet are getting hard to find. There's probably way more info to be found on how to properly set up your edelbrock. Along with support from the company itself. And the brand new carb is new...

Which coating for a long waiting period?

Thanks that's a great thread! Seemed to be a few varying opinions there, so to clarify - Just use epoxy primer, but you have to scuff it again before finally applying paint 5 years later. Does this sound right? Or do you need some other coating over the epoxy primer? My truck will not be...

Are these modern carburetors a big improvement?

Maybe I should have asked, if properly dialed in, are these modern carbs superior to the OEM ones? And if so, how? But maybe the only time you'd ever notice is if you have a performance engine. Not stock

Which coating for a long waiting period?

I'm something of a newb to autobody, so I'm hoping someone knows - What kind of coating do you get if you want the vehicle coated, but you're not ready to paint it yet? I have a 70's truck and the original paint job is just about gone. In it's place is a lot of surface rust. There's no bad rust...

Are these modern carburetors a big improvement?

It sounds as though the carb is fundamentally pretty darn limited and fuel injection should be used for greater accuracy and elimination of all those problems. But what about that old mechanical fuel injection? Can't remember, but I think even back in the 50's there were some vehicles that used...

Yeah it's a once size fits all gauge. But what engines will the people on this site be running? 305's and 350's mainly. A couple others like the 454. Maybe engines built for more performance than the stock ones will generate more oil pressure, and that's the idea.

Are these modern carburetors a big improvement?

Well as Ricko says you typically have to dig deeper. While bearing in mind that it's only as good as it's training data, and they got that from large swathes of the internet. Even this forum may provide some of it's response, and that may very well produce a wrong answer... sometimes. If you...

Are these modern carburetors a big improvement?

Are modern carbs from Holley, Edelbrock, Demon, etc a big improvement over stock stuff from the 70's and 80's? One assumes there would be some improvements, but who knows. I'm hoping it's like a giant improvement. The chatbot says they've basically eliminated the old cylinder wear problem...

Save Money On New Vintage Gauges this month

As someone who has a 100 psi oil pressure gauge, I can tell you that it's somewhat less useful than the stock one. The normal oil pressure of a 350 barely registers at idle on my 100 psi gauge. It would be much nicer to have 60 psi be the highest number, so the needle would move. If the needle...

Do throttle body or carb spacers actually help?

I have the same story, but the reverse. Never had anything but trouble out of carbs, and my TBI truck has treated me great for more than 15 years. Knock on wood of course. But I've always wanted to be able to make carbs work well for me. Maybe electric choke was what I needed, cause I always...

Do throttle body or carb spacers actually help?

Unless that's not the full story and they have a reason for not doing it. Lots of parts and upgrades have that story. They could probably squeeze another 5 mpg out of a square with little/no drawbacks, but you would have paid another $10k for the truck. And for a $15k truck that ain't happening.
