What if any current truck caps will fit squarebodies?

I just copied this data onto a spreadsheet that I can peruse... I've been looking for a replacement canopy myself: https://raybuck.com/pickup-truck-bed-size-dimensions/

    81 C10 pulling right

Brake hydraulic systems work as a 'system' and are easily fooled by one wheel. If you have a rear wheel cylinder sticking for example, the rest of the system "see's" equal pressure, but it actually isn't moving the mechanical parts equally. Usually, the opposite side from the pulling direction...

Cheesy aftermarket (?) screw-on tie-down anchor - Anybody have one? - Found! Thanks, Joe!

I'm glad I found a couple... I'd rather fill holes than patch em! (<---lazy-ish) I'd be first to admit they are total garbage. They look to be made from pot metal like an old carburetor or body emblem. I'm sure they were dealer-add on items, as every one I've ever seen them on has the same...

Cheesy aftermarket (?) screw-on tie-down anchor - Anybody have one? - Found! Thanks, Joe!

Yeah, pretty sure they were designed to put twine around to hold your Christmas tree in... that's about it. If you love it, don't trust it to those anchors!

Cheesy aftermarket (?) screw-on tie-down anchor - Anybody have one? - Found! Thanks, Joe!

Hi all, the 84 GMC C2500 I bought recently has these surface-mounted tie-down anchors on it. I don't know if they're a dealer-install option or not, but I would like to find at least one. One of mine has the center tab broken off (as if they had any strength to begin with) and I would just like...

    Frustrated 87 GMC owner!

This takes me back to my first squarebody... a beautiful 86 GMC K1500. Same gremlins, same issues... I couldn't trust it. I finally sold it and bought an 84 C10 that was so stripped down it was lucky it even had an automatic transmission and power steering. That was about it. Finally, I had...

Fixing a jimmy rigged electrical system

Take your time and do a good job on those crimp connects... I was out working on my 'new' 84 yesterday (just bought a couple weeks ago), and EVERY crimp connection under the hood that I tugged on except one of them pulled apart by hand with not much force. They were all the yellow connector size...

    PNW Square Buddy

Aye, that's a beauty! Shame it caused you heartache getting it switched, but you got it done. I'm always nervous when I go into those offices... like I'm going to hold up a bank or something. Weird. Welcome, from Edgewood!

    1981 3/4 ton 2wd GMC chassis question

Here in Washington you've got to pay more licensing based on the tonnage... the creative folks around here will buy a C10 and transfer everything C20 spring/axle related over to the C10 for hauling capability. I've only seen one that swapped the other way, and it was for sale on Craigy's List.

Best DIY spray liner for a long bed

I agree with having it done right. The pros that sell the spray-on liners know their product and know their processes. To me, it boiled down to two things I learned from first hand experiences from friends: The Line-X version is hard enough to have your cargo sliding around on you, but the Rhino...

Finally, something without a computer under the hood.

Yes! Computers are what ultimately drove me to sell my favorite squarebody several years ago... Arggh...

    Waving 'Hi' from Edgewood, Washington

Howdy all, I'm an old guy that just retired last June. I live at the end of a dead-end street with the love of my life. We have a nice, quiet place. My first squarebody was an '86 GMC K1500, black with red interior. It was a beautiful truck, but the running gear was showing age. The engine ran...
