Hi all, the 84 GMC C2500 I bought recently has these surface-mounted tie-down anchors on it. I don't know if they're a dealer-install option or not, but I would like to find at least one. One of mine has the center tab broken off (as if they had any strength to begin with) and I would just like another to put there until such time when a paint job comes around and they can all be eliminated.

Yeah, I know they're cheesy... I'm just trying to fix some little things. I'd rather have another one instead of removing them all and leaving shadows and holes.

Anyone? Thanks in advance!

Must be lol. My rig I picked up from La Pine/Bend Oregon has them. The only place I have seen them is the PNW trucks not that that means much.

Mine's from Eugene and had them down both sides and the tailgate. First thing I removed. No idea what I did with them either.

Mine was from Medford Oregon. I had never seen them before I bought that truck.

Lol. Mine was from central Oregun too. The tie downs were all removed, but it was 27 more holes to weld up and 9 dents to fix. But my truck was like a 1980s accessory catalog when I got it. Think I welded about 60 holes they weren’t there when it rolled off the assembly line…

Check boat stores, they look like they belong on a boat

Actually yeah, I kind of remember seeing those before in the boat/RV isles at a few stores.

I have them too. If I ever do body work, I’ll pull them. I wouldn’t trust them to do much more than tie down a tarp. It’s just three small screws into sheet metal.

My truck was not from the PNW.

Yeah, pretty sure they were designed to put twine around to hold your Christmas tree in... that's about it. If you love it, don't trust it to those anchors!
