I think you can do but but you have to check the length of the input shaft on the transfer case VS the output shaft on the trans. I think there was an issue with spline engagement IIRC. I was kicking this idea around for my 99 Burb but ran into problems with the VSS and whatnot. If it doesn't...- Berg

Yeah that compressor was being replaced with a york belt driven unit mounted above the power steering pump where a stock ac compressor would have been. This Blazer is the best plow truck I ever had. It does much better with the 8' blade but it actually fits in the garage with the 7.5.
