    Hooker 8525-4HKR ... Thoughts?

Well, I stepped out of my comfort zone to try Pro Filer 185s on this engine... Figured since they have so much porting potential, I could always sell em if they aren't that great for my use.. when they finally get here I can start opening boxes and assembling.. with all the other "might as...

    Hooker 8525-4HKR ... Thoughts?

I am less interested in possible power and more interested in mounting my compressor properly as well as saving the $300 on new exhaust work since longtubes would put the flange about where my H pipe is now... Of course there will be less scavenge than headers, but surely they breathe better...

    Hooker 8525-4HKR ... Thoughts?

Ok, so I've been gathering parts for the truck in my profile pic... It is a daily driver, A/C, th350, 3.07 or 3.08 12 bolt... Original motor, 85k miles, leaks and blowby getting worse daily. I am building a late model block to put in 1) to keep driving while I see what the original needs, 2)...

Noob here looking for help deciding wether to purchase a new crate motor or do an engine re-fresh

I just went through the whole mess of throwing parts at a problem when mine decided to die randomly... If yours always fires back up, first thing is swap out the ignition switch on the column under the dash.... Even if it is wiring or ignition related, it's good insurance, but I bet it'll stop...

    OPINION: Favorite Two-Tone Paint Schemes...

I drink a lot of Shiner Bock beer, so naturally I favor gold and tan even when it's dirty...

    Any help is appreciated...

I'm going to be back with other issues I'm sure... This is my 7th square body, but it's been 20yrs since the last one... Part of the reason I feel confident about daily driving this thing is the resources like this forum that weren't available to me in my youth... Please rename thread however...

    Any help is appreciated...

Grabbed a new switch (not lock cylinder) and wouldn't you know it...? Fixed... Always just failed to start when they went bad in the past... I took it apart and contacts were well worn, but slider contact for ignition 1 also had arced at some point to cause divots... Learn a new symptom...

    Any help is appreciated...

Thanks for all the replies guys.. the more I've run through it in my head, it seems likely that the column mounted switch isn't properly engaging the "ignition" position or might be corroded.. I'll just drop the column and test it for function... Couldn't hurt to replace a 47 year old switch...

    Any help is appreciated...

Not yet.. probably run a tach at some point but just hook up the timing light with tach readout to set idle rpm etc...

    Any help is appreciated...

I've felt and looked and wiggled and tugged, but unless a wire is damaged inside the factory loom, I can't find Any damaged or loose wires or been able to cause the issue on demand. That's what has me leaning toward bad connection somewhere in the column, has to be somewhere that I can't jiggle...

    Any help is appreciated...

But where do I look, every ground I can find I have removed, wire brushed, (rifle bore brush on drill for internal threads, etc.) And reconnected... Tomorrow I will run a temporary toggled hotwire to coil and drive for next week... Maybe that will tell me if it is a damaged wire or bad...

    Any help is appreciated...

Flat loses spark momentarily... New carb, new filter though, been chasing other issues with bog on acceleration... Narrowed that down by seeing the marks where previous owner "adjusted" the pedal rod to get more throttle, seems like it was pulling the metering rods too far up, new trans filter...

    Any help is appreciated...

Daily driver, 73 stock original 350.. Recently, I started getting a random loss of ignition while driving. My first though was module going out... It would randomly die, backfire, but start back up effortlessly... So I stopped in a parts store and put a new module in (yes, heat sink applied)...

    Shocks?

Check the travel first... I just got KYB replacement shocks and apparently the reason the last ones blew out is due to less than 1 inch of compression left at current ride height in the rear and about 1 1/2" up front... No lowering shackles, hangers or spindles but maybe at some point springs...

    Newb to the forum

Yeah, I have a new q-jet on order from Quadrajet Power, (pretty sure he is a member here) but I need to check the plugs on the bottom of this one.. it fires and runs great, but drive it for 45min and idle increases and if you park it, fires right back within 10min, after that it is flooded...

    Newb to the forum

Hey folks, New here from Texas. Over the years I've had a soft spot for RCSB trucks. Decided I was tired of perpetual payments and decided to look for a clean classic to daily. Found a solid 73 that had a cheap respray approx 15-20yrs ago, assumed it was going to fit the bill due to very...
