Just a little tip for you

Oddly enough I was jacking around with some resistors just this morning. I normally use painters tape and a sharpie but this is a great option.

    Mild 454 build

Make sure your bottom end is solid with good compression across the cylinders. A new oil pump is never a bad idea either.

New C10 Owner: Help needed with leaf spring/flip kit

That's right, the 52's are equal on both sides of the center pin so you are good there. Hope you get this sorted out soon, I know the frustrations.

New C10 Owner: Help needed with leaf spring/flip kit

Bextreme hit the nail on the head with the long/short leaf packs and how they are hung. Short beds are always the 52" variety. The number of leafs in the pack will not effect your installation, only the amount of drop. Notching is not always required but cutting off the bump stops almost...

    Carbon/charcoal filter element

I could be wrong but doesn't that attach to the valve cover for the PVC circuit input?

    1974 C10 rear leaf springs

I run some stock leaf packs from a Suburban that were in much better shape than what I had before.

    Harmonic balancer removal issues

Glad you got it sorted out. Plenty of dampner manufacturers are cool with heating them up prior to installation and I always do, it just makes things easier. 99% of the time prep the areas, heat up the dampner, and then tap it on with a BFH using an aluminum buffer. Easier if the engine is...

How does hood to cowl seal attach?

When I ordered a new seal I did not read that it came with new fasteners so I ordered those, they may have been a couple of dollars. I left the seal in the hot Texas sun for an hour or so and it made install even easier, about 1 minute compared to 2...

    Break-in oil

Your cam instructions should give you some advice here but what the others said is good. Run it for 20 minutes between 2000-3000 rpm and do not let it idle. If you have to shut it down for whatever reason just kill the ignition where it is rather than bringing it down. I use Edelbrock break...

New impact: air vs battery powered?

I use the battery powered impacts at work but I do not own one. I have plenty of air tools that are over 20 years old, can't say that about battery powered tools. If I didn't have a shop compressor with plumbing and tools already in hand I would probably buy battery though, just for...

    just 2 more inches...

Yeah, you can remove all but 3 leafs (leaves?) or get some drop spring leaf packs. Or, keep it simple and do a flip! Of course then you'll need to do the front to match... I've seen a lot of people in your shoes, they do a 2/4 then they regret it and wish they had done more. Not the end of...

    Stance

A 2.5" drop spindle will clear 15" wheels most of the time without any issue. Using the 3" spindle is when most run into issues and have to clearance the LCA. Of course, aftermarket LCA's are a different animal all together.

Replacing rubber brake lines, i'm about to lose it

Sometimes you have to know when to say when... Another option would be to cut it a little further back and then use a compression fitting. Not ideal but it would get you down the road.

Lowering just the rear of an 84 c10

That could be the confusion, back when I was using shackles I was lifting - not lowering!

Lowering just the rear of an 84 c10

If you only use a drop shackle you only lower one side of the spring, effectively cutting your drop in half. 2" drop shackle is actually 1" of measured drop. I have not played with drop shackles in many years but that's how I recall it going down.

    Hi, from Texas

I used to buy a lot of steel in that area, at West Rd and 290. Hopefully I can start making some Coffee and Truck events or other things when the schedule allows.
