Chassis brackets and rubber motor mounts.

Swapped the tall cast Edelbrocks with a shorter set of Edelbrocks. Problem is now between the posi locks and new valve covers. I made a separate post about this. Looked it over with a clear head. If the motor sat any lower the headers wouldn't clear the chassis.

    Posi lock clearance

I removed the 2" body lift and had to replace the valve covers for firewall clearance. I have posi lock rocker nuts installed. Now my clearance issue is between the valve cover and posi locks. Got my playdoh at the ready and have no clue what an acceptable amount of clearance should be in there...

High back blazer buckets in a C10

After years of life happening my baby is now on the front burner and will remain there. Many years ago I bought a pair of Blazer buckets seats and mounted them to 1/4" aluminum plate then onto the stock bench seat slider brackets. Needed a wood block so they wouldn't rock left to right. Are...

Chassis brackets and rubber motor mounts.

About 25-28 feet. LOL. Rolling Chassis on east side of the barn and bed standing on end on the west side. The valve covers are taller than need be to accommodate valve train but I mostly like the looks. Just seems to be ALOT of room between the cross member and oil pan. Worst case scenario I...

Chassis brackets and rubber motor mounts.

I removed a 2" body lift from my 1976 C10 and now the Edelbrock valve covers touch the firewall. The truck came with a SB but I felt a BB would look better. I used both the chassis and motor mounts from the SB when I installed the BB. Do I need to replace the chassis brackets to a BB application...

    Used two post

I checked with the local dealer and got a no go. Northwest PA is so ridiculous at getting anyone to do anything that I generally don't bother with dealers and that is why. They didn't even want to setup the main posts and leave the upper half to me....lotta ******* in my area! I don't plan on...

    Used two post

I looked at a used two post lift to give my old body a break. Can't find anywhere to buy the floor mounting hardware. I'm certain they'll destroy the floor bolts when it is removed. Where might I buy this hardware at?

    Quality replacement steering box

I'm in the process of rebuilding my Saginaw 800 (?)box. Not a job for the impatient or mechanically challenged. If you decide to rebuild yours and its a Saginaw keep me in mind for some pointers. I had less trouble replacing internal Muncie transmission parts.

    VVT Misubishi

Anyone out there knowledgeable on these motors and how to go about correctly lashing the valves? 2014 4J12 2.4L inline. The local dealer cant even get wheels torqued correctly so I'm certain valve lash is out of the question...18 inches of leverage and I still couldn't break them loose! TIA, Rick.

    Drivers floor pan replacement

My welder, younger brother, agrees on the fight and hammer to obtain a butt weld. It'll be hidden by the floor pad so I'm not really concerned with appearance. Anyone that crawls under to critique the work had best take into consideration their boys are in a vulnerable position......

    Drivers floor pan replacement

I'm working on this floor pan and have two questions. #1 Which is better trying to butt the old to the new and stitch welding or overlapping them and welding on both sides? #2 The new panel fits good front to rear . I have to keep it to the left for the door gasket channel..this is where the...

    Muncie repair parts dealers

A little late but I eventually bought from Auto Gear in Syracuse, NY..fantastic to work with! I did learn the hard way though. Originally bought from Allstate Gear in San Antonio, Texas on the reccommendation Cangialosi of 5speeds.com...smart man, excellent Muncie repair book author, piss poor...

    I really messed up

Cut the line and use a six point socket or as mentioned GOOD quality flare nut wrenches. Heat, and the redder the better, is rusted bolts worst enemy...cherry red it and the things will fly out. Word of warning though, if brake fluid hits really hot metal it tends to catch fire or splatter. Top...

Milky oil after 1984 K10 305 top end rebuild.

I forget what type of exhaust gas they look for but I had it done to my plow truck...warped head. There's a special cap they put on to detect small traces of exhaust gas in your cooling system in place of the radiator cap. Sorry for the loss of memory....getting old.

    Rear end measurement heigth

My square is a 1976, 1/2 ton, 2WD, long bed. If anyone has a similar truck can you measure the distance between the rear, upper bump stop and the top of the axle housing please? I need this to to set my pinion angle with the ladder bars. TIA, Rick.

    Confused new year...

Please don't mess with the OPs state of confusion...60 YO this saturday and I am a master at self confusion and misplacing stuff in nanoseconds. LOL. We were out and removed the homemade axle angle shims. The trans and pinion are within 0.4 degrees of each other now!! A couple twists on the Heim...

    Confused new year...

My interpretation is the transmission center line and pinion angle center line need to be the same. Is this correct? MrMarty51 thank you . I also have a 1950 panhead that was raped during the chopper era...poor thing. Turbo4whl great video! Now I have a starting point. The lesser the angle of...

    Confused new year...

I finally got the motor/tranny set in the rolling chassis with the help of my 13 YO grandson assistant. Now that I want to do this right I'm getting mixed signals on what is important regarding transmission center line to pinion shaft angle relationship. Best I can figure is you want the two at...
