GMC 2500 454 belt noise
Looking for suggestions: I replaced the belt on my 1989 GMC 2500 2WD 2500 because it was squealing. Less then 2500 miles later it's at it again. I put a stethoscope on the idlers and didn't hear anything unusual. My question is is there a known issue with the 454's that I should address that...- karitoki

Suggestions for headers, exhaust and beyond?
I'm seriously considering doing some engine work on "The Massive". I going to do a compression check to see the general conditions of the valves and such. I knew it! In the month I've had my 89 2500 2wd Suburban I've felt something just wasn't right. It sounded like there was an exhaust leak and the power/economy (ha!) wasn't what I thought a 454 would have. I just got done replacing hoses and I took it over to my neighbor who knows a lot more...- karitoki
