    Door Skin Sound Deadening

    As I have the windows out of my '84 C-10 in preparation for installing single pane glass, the time is right to apply sound deadening mat to the inside of the skins. Is it necessary to cover the entire inner surface as much as possible, or will strips with spaces in between do the trick?

    Bed Deck Bolt Spacers

    The OEM deck had steel spacers thru the wood deck at the mounting bolts. The holes I bored in my white oak bed boards are off location a tad, enough to prevent me from installing those spacers. I believe that those spacers insure a good solid fastening of the bed cross braces to the chassis...

    One might suppose that, but the round holes in the bed cross members and the truck frame wouldn't permit much adjustment...........The bolt turning prevention seems like a plausible explanation......

    Turns out...that part # IS for a pkg. of 15.. The individual part # is 75453 O'Reilly has 1........ they are ordering 1 more... If I wanted to order 2 more, they would have to come from different sources... NOT a very popular part. They are available individually on ebay at stupid prices...

    All was going so well, until........... I had decided to plumb the valve in order to be able to manipulate the hard lines, especially the ones to the front. Those won't move much... Got the lines connected then tried to mount to the frame... Got 1 bolt in but couldn't get the rear bolt started...

    Passenger side not has a new tank. Selector valve port size issue sorted out, now time to do the plumbing.......... Tight spaces for my large hands........ gonna scrape a few knuckles.

    I suppose in an effort to make the valves "universal" they used the later port size for the return. The heat gun softened the hose up so that 1/4" easily slipped over the 5/16" nipple. The passenger tankis back in (after a pretty good struggle) and now...........I gotta do the plumbing........

    A heat gun is a wonderful thing.............. A little heat and the 1/4" fuel line went on to the 5/16" barb of the valve no problem........ Now, the fun starts............putting it all back together.........
