    1982 Suzuki GS1100G "Preppercycle"

I wouldn't push it very far, but it works nice to push up against the bench and pull back out when I want to mess with it. At least for the two hours it's been up there lol. I wish the base were larger, but I can't buy wheels for the price of the entire dolly I used as a base lol.

    1982 Suzuki GS1100G "Preppercycle"

Today I managed to get my little stand finished I made out of a furniture dolly and get it up in the air and the tank off so I can evaluate what I really want to do with it. 20181104_181505 by Marvin Gunn, on Flickr 20181104_183833 by Marvin Gunn, on Flickr 20181104_185727 by Marvin Gunn, on...

Sm465 locked up in granny gear

I've had to pull the shifter and use a screwdrive to line the slots up, then re-install the shifter before. I was young, poor, and dumb back then, so I never figured out what was causing it, but I must have had to do it three or four times in 2 years .

    73-80 oem fender identification

My 79 fenders don't have a GM stamping on them, neither does the 75 fender I just got. The only real way I've seen is to inspect the inside places for Ecoating. People say the aftermarket stuff is thin, but that's not been my experience.

    1982 Suzuki GS1100G "Preppercycle"

Apparently new, this one would run the 1/4 in like 11.3. With no seat or fender, I kept it in first and second lol. It doesn't feel like it will have a problem going quick enough to die though.

Not of mine, but that's the theme lol.

    1982 Suzuki GS1100G "Preppercycle"

This is going to be the build document on my 1982 GS1100G. I'm not really a bike guy, I've had a few when I was a teenager, but I was just a rider of them then, so it's unfamiliar territory for me. What really got my wheels turning on this was Daryl's CB750 on The Walking Dead lol. It just...

    6.0 Header Bolts

I'm just using Dorman replacements, they seem fine in my limited run time

    5.3 swap - total newbie!!

2017 is going to be a type LT, not LS, so it's a bit more complicated. You'll need provisions for LS type accessory drive is the main hurdle. The fuel system is quite a bit more complicated as well.

    grille replacement recommendations

I have a replacement headlight bucket, and original buckets. THe originals are pot metal and solid, the replacements feel like dollar store alluminum pans. THey are absolute trash compared to OE, although it fits the truck and does the job. Grille, for me, my 79 repo grill has no bowtie or...

    Floor repair

WEll, they all come from the same two or three places in the end. Key parts is pretty common and good quality, you get them from several suppliers. I would recommend determining exactly what you need first, it's not uncommon to need a kick panel, inner rocker, etc... In addition to the floor...

FINALLY installing vortec 350. Mechanical fuel pump?

It's less fittings to no try to use the mech pump. Also, I'll second what Bucket has said, just put the rod in there and see if it moves up and down, that's free lol.

    Cowl/Firewall/Floorboard rust

I'll just say this, by the time you buy a welder, all the cut off wheels, wire, etc etc... Patch panels, on and on... You could even take a long road trip and get a rust free cab. I've patched my cab, and I won't do it again. All that said, just buy whatever welder you can afford and get to...

    Welder Question

Sweet, having everything fitted up properly and clean makes a huge difference, it's worth the time up front.

    350 output?

Chevy didn't really retard cam timing, they just put giant open chamber heads on to drop the C/R. Ford put the pistons way in the hole and retarded the timing to keep them running on the new, much lower octane fuel.

    350 output?

I tell people all the time when they are planning a build and just won't accept anything less than some lofty arbitrary HP goal that 150 hp was enough that people still crashed them into poles sideways lol. A legit 300hp small block would shock most people, even today, especially without all...

    Welder Question

I do all my sheetmetal with .023, general purpose I use .030. I haven't used flux in a long long time, but I did have the little HF flux machine for awhile, it did fine for me doing general sheetmetal repairs, I used the Lincoln jelly to keep splatter from sticking. You can do alot with a...

    Arduino powered fuel injector tester.

I'll CLiffs notes it for you. I'm not trying to be patronizing BTW. Turbo engines need larger injectors. Larger injectors are expensive. Cutting the restrictor/spray cap off a stock LS truck injector roughly quadruples it's output for free, from 24 to 80-ish lbs/hr. It's also wildly...

    Welder Question

My Harbor Freight welder is the top of the line, 180amp, 220v unit, that they don't make any longer because now they think their stuff is gold. So now, I think the best bang for your buck in starter welders is the Hobart Handler 140, you can start it on flux, move to gas, and is powerful...
