    dorman # 42591 and 42630 are what I found, both are 18 inches long I looked at the pics and both are spline push on type, but no mention of the spline diameter. My GMC has .61 size spline.

    thanks , the area around the turn indicators seem to be a weak spot as well,I was thinking using some silicone to hold it down would help the plastic board get trained to the curves. I have had this cluster in and out 4 times chasing gremlins this winter so I will definitly check all the lights...

    doing that to my gmc ,waiting on LMC for a new printed circuit. How was yours from LMC,also got some new bulb holders as mine seem to be loose in a few holes. Did you glue or silicone your new board down to keep it in place?? thinking I willl do that to mine when I get it

    exactly, I cut the marked out area away, no exposure to the backside of the bulb holder. so no weather concerns. lots more light out of the side of the lens. I think the LED bulbs will make it even better, I will get a picture soon

    good place to start on tuning your carb is about 1-1/2 turns out,timing will make a big difference as well.

    Has anyone superglued the copper contacts down on the circuit board ?

    I would use some clear silicone my self, I know those boards seem to be moving a bit and a new one would probably need to tied down for a bit until the plastic gets its curves and bumps worked out, especially around the turn indicator bulbs

    I went ahead with the tail light mod. it puts out some more light to the side,doesn't seem to affect anything to the rear of the truck. the usually darker side of the lens is now got light!! Some new LED bulbs should really light it up back there

    I went to an H4 bulb setup on my 87, had to swap the ground and low beam wires in the connector,just changed their position in the connector works great!! hope this helps

    well just a quick update, the horn is working!! the lights are working!!! and I got the windshield wipers to working!!!, this truck has been a challenge for sure.lots of little stuff gone wrong from sitting and previous owners work. Now time to get back at it and re-install the dash and get on...

    what was the length of the arm from the hook to the splined shaft on the cowl??
