    Dually Fender Attachment

Can I buy the gap covers from you? Those are like hens teeth too. The piece that bolts over the cut bedside and follows the contour of the wheelhouse.

    Dually Fender Attachment

Yes to bucket. I’ve been doing my homework and probably won’t get to the actual project for months or years, but I am aware of the cutting required. I found these on eBay. They may serve the purpose.

    Dually Fender Attachment

Factory way was a coarse threaded stud that threaded into the bedside. I don’t have a picture handy but they aren’t reproduced that I know of. I like the insert idea offered above. That would preserve removability and still hold well.

    Dually Fender Attachment

Here’s a question for any dually gurus. I’m going to be converting a regular longbed to a dually. Already have some fenders. The truck is a SRW converted to DRW many years ago, and I acquired it without a bed. It’s a 4x4 gmc 3500. I do not have the fender to bed side anchors, and as I look...

80 C10 "Nemo" Build - Started as: Front frame buckled…

Long story short on this project is that I ended up with temporary shop space that was more like storage... I didn't advance the project for a year, then ended up with a knee replacement and other parts of life taking over. I'm now getting back to working on this thing and hope to move it along...

    Adapting a flatbed to a 1981 gmc 3500 / k30

Ok, I’m thinking it was not in fact a cab and chassis. I wasn’t educated on the topic and it sounds like c&c has flat rails. Mine has humps in the frame rails. Any hints on adaptability of flatbeds to it?

    Adapting a flatbed to a 1981 gmc 3500 / k30

Hey everybody: I have a 1981 gmc 3500 that I’m pretty sure was a cab and chassis. It has no bed on the back. It was a srw truck that has been converted to drw sometime in its life. Question I have is this: I want to put a flat bed on it, but am new to that game. Can I generally adapt any...

    Very fast idle on start

If it runs fine after warm, then start with the obvious: is the fast idle screw too high? Thats the idle screw that contacts the cam on the choke linkage.

That is a great resource. I will still use it to fix my old distributor if I ever get around to it.

Biggest jobs you have completed in the shortest amount of time.

Most "big jobs done quickly" are because you actually need the truck by morning. I haven't had that problem, so pretty much every project I do takes two or three times as long as necessary. Usually, it's because I decide to do a brake job and end up in a front-end rebuild "just because." I...

Help: 85 305 Suddenly Stalling in Gear

Opening up this thread to close it again. Stalling started again. Removed EGR, no problem with it. It was a placebo. I guess I jiggled it last time and the engine came back to life at the same time but not because of. Lost all fire to plugs. Suspected pickup coil this time. Swapped out...

Auto A/C vacuum pump. lots of CFM or Less CFM whats best?? A/C tech's please help.

I'm sitting at about 1000 above sea level and have had one of the 3 CFM harbor freight units for a few years. It pulls down to about 29 in at least based on my gauges. I think it's the 3CFM ("2 stage") one.

Yeah, but how much does it suck? It doesn't sufficiently suck until it hits 29in hg.

Help: 85 305 Suddenly Stalling in Gear

Tried new coil. no change Opened fuel line to check for obstruction at the q jet. No change. Ran down all vacuum lines and double checked them. While also: Using a screwdriver to gently actuate the egr valve. That seems to have fixed it. I’m wondering if I had a stuck egr valve. The...

Help: 85 305 Suddenly Stalling in Gear

I did replace the module but not the coil. Esc has been disabled. Would the coil failure happen with even a little bit of heat? I actually hadn’t thought of that. I usually think about the coil needing a lot of heat to show fail. It’s a weird thing. It will start, idle high, then when it...

    TH400--Steel Transmission Lines VS Flexible

I ran flexible braided (nylon I think) lines on an impala I own and have had good experience but it's a very low use application, and so I can't say much about durability. I purchased a kit with AN fittings and adapters and routed the lines.

Help: 85 305 Suddenly Stalling in Gear

Ok, here's the deal: 1985 C10 with a 305. No air pump or EFE, but all other vac lines are updated and intact. Truck has run like a champ for more than a year after a light restoration (thread elsewhere). I'm having trouble suddenly and wanted any quick ideas. The story: The truck had to be...

    Mystery Bracket Under Dash

Pretty sure it's for the cruise control module. It doesn't actually physically hold the pedal in place but is the electronic module mounting spot IIRC. throttle on an '84 would be held by a vacuum servo on the firewall side of the carb next to the distributor.

No crank no click no start 81 c2500

One more to check: Is the ignition switch wire (the little one) on the starter loose? Good battery, no click, no fuse blown I'm checking that little wire on the starter solenoid for running loose. I had one do this to me earlier this year where it was getting intermittent when hot; and it...
