Taking off passenger head about 37 bolts so far

I'm going to suggest that two books be purchased/ borrowed...a Chiltons/ Haynes guide for the vehicle or similar and a how to rebuild sbc book. That way you can have the books out and available as as you do the work.

What size tires for 4 inch lift?

I'm assuming you want to keep your sheetmetal intact and not cut/ flare, etc. 33's for a 4" lift if you are wheeling. 35's are fine for street but will hit the rear of the front fender with a good bit of articulation. I would recommend a zero-rate on the front spring pack to move the axle...

C10's On The Capital, Olympia WA *New Pics*

Thanks for posting thses pictures. Any chance you got the specs on these wheels? They look bigger than 16's and they are still 8 lug. Looking for something bigger for my CC but don't want 10 lug and adapters.

    NOS Door Hinge

Most of the NOS stuff I come across the last few years was never installed/ used because it has some type of defect and it sat on a dealers parts counter for 30 years because nobody wanted it. It might be brand new but has damage or extensive shelf wear in a lot of cases. A hinge probably...

    NOS Door Hinge

Mr. Clean- Appreciate all that you have done for our country and this site! I think he was looking for a NOS hinge as in New, Old, Stock. I was interested as well as I'm always on the lookout for NOS stuff.

    One piece window conversion??

Pro's: looks good, less wind noise. Great for a show car, weekend cruiser Con's: I haven't seen too many people with much success in making them reliable. A few that I have talked to say they have to adjust them annually. There are some other threads on here where others have asked the same...

Need ideas for a modern steering wheel.

I added some dynamat to my sons truck this weekend. Interior roof temp was 160-170. The OP is free to do what he wants. I'm just casually reminding him of what we deal with and what is great in other parts of the state and country may not be appropriate for a vehicle you actually drive...

Need ideas for a modern steering wheel.

Unless you live in Phoenix where the steering wheel will reach 150 degrees or more during the summer. It is very different here. The paint melts off license plates, 3rd degree burns from drinking from water hoses isn't uncommon. People get burned with leather seats. No relief going in the pool...

What part of AZ are you in? I'm West Valley in Surprise.

Need ideas for a modern steering wheel.

This is the one my grandmother put on her towncar. She really likes it alot. I guess the chain helps her grip with her arthritis.

Need ideas for a modern steering wheel.

Isn't the back of the wheel metal though?

Need ideas for a modern steering wheel.

I haven't had the best of luck with a lot of aftermarket cranks either. The knobs are too small and you have to pinch them and if a regulator gives resistance, you'll end up grabbing the whole thing.

Need ideas for a modern steering wheel.

Square Root...since you are in AZ, I'd rethink that metal steering wheel if you park outside or drive during the summer. I have a Forever Sharp on my C10 but am reluctant to put anything metal on the C30 as it is going to be parked outside and will be too hot in Phoenix. On our S10, the key...

‘86 C10 Cargo light confusion. Help!

Personally, I like a separate switch for multiple reasons: If you turn on the light and try and look through back glass, you may only get a reflection with the interior lights on. On some of my other trucks, I swapped out to high powered LED's and use it for an additional reverse lights. I...

‘86 C10 Cargo light confusion. Help!

There should be a switch over your left shoulder near the seat belt mount.

    Gauges Paint

I bought my paint and gauge faces from whitegauges.net. They have 4-5 different colors of paint and 30-40 different face colors.

    Different lift kit questions?

Can you take one leaf out of the spring pack? Might drop it an inch and make the ride a bit softer? And other than your time, it's free to try. I'd also see if there is any spring shops in your area. I recently priced out to have some springs made the way I want for my dually and it was cheaper...

    Best brand for LED conversion?

Do you have pictures? How much did you have to trim? I have a set of DD's SL1's that I used for a month or so and then swapped to their "pro" foglights which I removed after 2 months and sold the truck to the dealer for more than I paid due to the chip shortage. Stuff is just collecting dust for...

    Best brand for LED conversion?

I like these. Doesn't look like they make them for the 89-91 style yet.

    Trading 74 C20 for 73 C30 Dually

Dually...for a few reasons. Financially...an early standard cab dually is worth way more than any C20. I see nicely restored/ restomodded ones selling for $35-50k pretty often. I have never seen a c20 anywhere near that. If you are going to put time/money into a truck, put it into one that has...

    Identify which rear drum brakes

If it was me, I'd also order a full hardware kit and possibly wheel cylinders. It's all fairly cheap online for high quality stuff and you won't have to look at again for 100k miles.

    1983 454 vs 5.3 LS for towing

I have a similar set-up. '90 CC DRW w/ BB/ 700r4/ D70. I plan to add a GearVendors as well. Everyone I talk to that has one behind the 700r4 says it drops the temp considerably and really helps the trans last longer as it gives you the additional gears and an OD you can tow in and double OD for...

80 C10 "Nemo" Build - Started as: Front frame buckled…

I'm still going to disagree. When comparing apples to oranges, disc is superior but apples to apples, a stock drum is better than a disc brake conversion. To achieve the same braking power of a drum, you have to increase the diameter usually 10-20% or more. Look at the same vehicle that's...

Borgeson 12.7:1 Ratio. Just wow!!! 1 1/2 turns lock to lock

Nice! I used the CPP box and Borgeson shaft on my sons. I think its 14/1, so not as quick as the Borgeson but it was $200 less. I'd also suggest you add the Ridetech braces to triangulate and strengthen the frame. You can also add the ORD/ Autofab box brace as well. The RT goes to the front...
