Anybody repaired a BAD cab corner?

Good to know. I found a little bit of cracked bondo right next to the passenger side side mirror so it looks like they spread the love to the doors too. New doors it is..... Not messing with someone else’s work.

Anybody repaired a BAD cab corner?

You might be right. I know the roof was re-skinned, they may have painted the whole cab at the same time? Maybe it had surface rust that they bondo’d over?? the truck has a 350 with 23,000 on it and a rebuilt rear end so I am not going to worry about it’s past too much. The frame is straight as...

Anybody repaired a BAD cab corner?

I have coated it with clear POR 15 to slow the rust progression which is why it’s glossy... look at this goodness!!! Any rust on the truck has all received a hefty marination POR 15. That’s why I’m not so worried about the doors, I don’t mind the look of rust. But when the cab is rotting from...

Anybody repaired a BAD cab corner?

Most definitely needs metal, let me go take some pictures :) It is pretty bad. I like the idea of using metal to make my own patches. Probably what I have to do...

Anybody repaired a BAD cab corner?

Adding projects to my list... I’m not looking for perfection, BUT my passenger cab corner is GONE like yesterday. At one time, someone repaired and bondo’d over this, so what is left is litterally 1/8” bondo and/or scaled rust. The rust underneath goes higher than the paint transition line I...

    Timing a 350

I haven’t even hooked a timing light to it yet. I should, I just know it runs good where it’s at. Might be good for me to know it, but on my old 305, it took 15 degrees initial timing to get it to the ‘Normal’ range of vacuum.... it had a little cam in it with some unknown internals, but my...

    Timing a 350

Thanks, I got it from Harbor Freight. Money well spent!

    Timing a 350

Just an update. Between the leaking carb gasket, raising the idle a tad, new spark plugs, and tuning the a/f mixture screws on the quad, it steadied out and raised a little bit. I have not hooked the gauge up between today and when I timed the engine (when I made the thread), so I do not know...

    Longbed Inspiration needed

That’s good news! I also have 4.11’s or larger in the rear, idk what they are other than it gets 4 mpg on the highway. A taller tire should help compensate for the short gearing my truck has.

Do you have any pics? I am thinking of maybe doing a mild lift down the road.

I was thinking the same thing hah. Yours look good, better than the tires I got for sure.

I’ve made a decision, or rather the truck has made my decision... I am a Huge fan of a lowered shortbed with chrome centercaps and beefy tires, kind of like my el Camino... but... that is a short bed. I would grow tired of it being low I m sure, accompanied by its long proportions... I’m sure I...

Thanks, it’s got a decent bit of rust... I couldn’t repaint it without replacing the doors, bedsides, rockers and cab corners. Just embracing what it is.

Thank you. A lot of people do the 4/6 drop and it just isn’t my style. Looks good, just not my style. Unfortunately, that’s what I see a lot of pics of, and not what I am wanting to do. Then again.... I don’t know what I want to do hahah.

I wonder what rear tire is on the gold one... I would only like a 2” or so drop if anything. But I like that staggered look. Thanks!

    Longbed Inspiration needed

I kind of agree with you. That’s why I wanted to see other set ups. The 350 has 24,000 miles on it, and the rear end has like 4.56 gears so I figured it was a good foundation for ‘something’.

    Longbed Inspiration needed

Agreed! I am not wanting to do low profiles, if anything, meaty side walls. I like the wheels and want to keep them. This is my style. I stanced my 84 el Camino with staggered tires (275/60/15 & 235/65/15). I kind of wanted to drop the truck down and do some wide tires on the rear with a...

    Longbed Inspiration needed

Hey all. Would like pics of your trucks with different wheel set ups/heights/mods.... anything. I am wanting to lower my truck and do the whole hot rod thing, but I am not sure I want to do that on a long bed. I’m stuck and need pics if you all don’t mind. The truck is ugly, plenty of “Patina”...
