    How does horn get activated?

I did watch it and the convexed piece is what keeps the ring with the three screws from pushing in. If I removed the convexed piece, the ring does push in as it normally should.

    How does horn get activated?

Yes, it is there with spring and locking plunger, but when wheel is put on and that rusty metal ring is bolted down, I think it gets permanently pressed in. Right, that is what I was saying before, and this would make me think the metal ring under the pad shouldn't be bolted down tight? When I...

    How does horn get activated?

So, where are you see the pic with the plunger under the plunger there is a spring, but when you remove the wheel and the locking plate that is part of a plastic piece that comes off. Underneath that is the third pic you see that I posted. There is a spring Loaded plunger there to the right in...

    How does horn get activated?

I cleaned it all out when putting it back together, but still nothing, but also, nothing moves. Somethings should move when you press the horn pad in order to close the circuit and activate the horn, right? Everything is tighten down, and nothing moves under the pad. Hello, are you talking...

    How does horn get activated?

So, I don't know why I can't wrap my brain around this, but I had to take wheel off to replace ignition lock cylinder and noticed when I took off the horn pad that it didn't push down. I mean, typically you push down and the button depresses and the horn sounds, right? lol So, can someone shed...

Feels like front suspension 'bottoms out' over speed bumps.

Agreed. This was spacers, but instead of between the body and frame, they used the blocks up front under the leafs, like in the rear. I'll be switching to proper springs asap.

Feels like front suspension 'bottoms out' over speed bumps.

Hey, Redfish, you are completely right! lol This thing is in a bad way; worse than I thought before, but luckily I'm not in a hurry. I'm down here for work until the end of the year, so it gives me something to do on the weekends. I was wanting to install the new tank, sending unit, and front...

Feels like front suspension 'bottoms out' over speed bumps.

I’ll start shopping for front springs, thanks guys. I glanced over it all and didn’t find anything else missing/ torn, except this., although there is no play at all.

Feels like front suspension 'bottoms out' over speed bumps.

Ok, so remove the blocks. What is normally used for body lift up front? like cab mounts/ bushings & look for a bushing kit. Maybe the missing missing swaybar bushing is more the cause of the sloppy steering than the steering box?

Feels like front suspension 'bottoms out' over speed bumps.

I weight 180 and it doesn’t move much at all when I push down on it, but it does a little and no bouncing. I’ve never seen any leaking, but only drove it a couple of times and shocks are pretty rusty on outside. If I’m not mistaken, there are two different bumpers- one at leaf plate and the...

Feels like front suspension 'bottoms out' over speed bumps.

I've driven this thing around little enough to know the steering is very sloppy, but I'll adjust steering box and report back. Going over speed bump in parking lot felt like front end went up and bottoms out when coming down. I'm assuming this is a shock issue? Truck is an '84 K20 with a 3"...

    Squishy brakes- help!

Mine are the same, so I replaced the master cylinder and it definitely helped, but not enough as I still have to press down pretty hard to stop. I read that after bleeding the MC & still having issue, you have to bleed each wheel in case there is air down the lines. That's my next step.

    Am I missing brackets?

Hi all, I am looking to get a/c going and about to order the compressor. From what I have found, looks like 'bracketry' is complete, but I thought I'd ask. By looking at brackets, I would assume it is the shorter compressor between the two I have seen that are available online. -TIA Dan

Help bringing this K20 back to life..

Yeah, I should have mentioned that. I did prime it with gas and it ran a few seconds and it just died a few seconds later. The vacuum line was cut from valve, so maybe last owner tried to disable valve, but it was sender. Idk

Help bringing this K20 back to life..

I see, I plugged both ports up on the intake and it helped. Truck runs fine now, out of the can. I'm new to all of this, so do you mind my asking how I bypass the valve?

    Hello from Houston, TX...

Here is this one when I just drove it out of where it had been stuck for a few years. I'm going to at least spray it down, sweep it out, etc. before I put up more pics.

    K20 pulling 19k lbs...

hahaha No, I really appreciate yours and the others' advice; really. I got the idea because I purchased the damn heavy fifth wheel and did not realize the type of truck i would need to take it on weekend trips and I have no desire to spend $60k, nor even have a dually as my daily driver, nor...
