Was on a job with a farm mechanic Tuesday. 1 ton flat bed shorty decked out with boxes welders the works. He opened the side box to reveal a well organized box full of hanging wrenches on hooks. I start laughing, he says what gives? I say your 10mm is missing. I get the F u and he walks...
Glad to see you are making progress! My comment early on is cause I am a " sort it out " guy. Meaning if the truck will not see a show not meant for daily drivers and workers, the economy easy version of making it safe is my choice. If plans were different, it would prompt a factory repair...
Welcome!
Stop, breathe, think.
The mess you have needs to be fixed, safety issue. The question is what are your plans for the truck? If a working driver, make it safe and go to work. If you are planning a restoration, then restore to original.

Classy! I had an oriental rug in my workshop for a while that got a lot of comments. Similar situation, out of the house, no sale, into the shop it went. lol

Not mine but funny. I asked my buddy to borrow his mortar mixer, he says sure. WTF! So far I am in 2 new tires, wheel bearing job on both sides, chipped concrete a inch thick off both rims, in the process of bolting patch panels to the dog house covering the motor and gearing. I hope to...
Enter in the truck class. We are still hot on the circuit. lol. With the mild but comfy interior mods you are sure to get something.
Let us know how it goes.

Awesome! That indicates the damage is not super bad. For the inner skin police, what is the gap between the inner skin and the roof? That would be the limit of the damage if the fore skin, lol, is not impacted. What you have is a mess. Put the grinder on it and see if you can at least true...
That mess could be cleaned up with some basic power tools and a straight edge. Grinder and some sanders. A peek under the headliner would give you a better idea what is going on with it without committing to the repair,

So that plastic piece is a s type lock that goes in the top of my fermenter every month to let the yeast gas out and keep the wild yeast from getting in. ROFL.

It would be important to note here the service pressure. A high line vs. a regulated line is a whole nother bunch of grapes. Call me old fashioned but for a high line I want steel. A regulated line can be whatever you are comfortable with. I am also not a fan of shark bite or compression...
Glad you made it to safety prior to the rust monster attacking. In my youth we cut waste oil with any solvent handy. Diesel, gas, kerosene, fuel oil, or whatever. If you can get it out of a nozzle to apply, you win. when fighting the rust monster.

no advice on stacking or transport. However Capt. obvious says if using the plastic barrels for garbage you need to cut the top off inside the the rigid ring. if not they deform and flop all over the place. Ask me how I know? lol I cut my first batch the wrong way.

The track is most likely bent, or tweaked. I had the same on my 87. Found a set of doors that were complete trash and pulled the guts out to swap in mine. Problem solved. Holding them side by side I could not tell what the issue was, it was beer thirty though. lol
Eric
Howdy and welcome. Local body shop with a frame machine should do the trick. Full frame trucks are easy to straighten enough to save. Unibodies not so much.

I only drove my truck about 200 miles after the rough country lift was installed. It took another 2 to 3 hundred miles to break in the suspension. Be patient with your new install. It will take a while to be able to drive it without spilling your road soda.
