Side markers turn on when pressing brakes

I didn't find anything on this--I apologize if it's nothing new to you guys! This is for my 76 GMC 1 ton. I see my side markers glow dim, and kind of strobe a bit (dim to somewhat bright) when I press the brakes. So, I put it in park, held brake and messed with light switch (out and in...

What have you done to your square lately??

You have a good point there! I wish I could just attach a video rather than load to YouTube to post. Wonder if I can post to YouTube from my cell...?? I'll try.

What have you done to your square lately??

That I certainly won't! The guy built her like this back in'83/'84 with a kit...it's staying a kit. I haven't seen one like it, and I like it's unique!

What have you done to your square lately??

A LOT of work to get to this point! 2 years I believe. I need to update my build thread some day. And man does she sound damned nice!! That deeeeeeeeppp Olds grumble with a bit of cam through 3 inch exhaust and smitty mufflers. I love it.

Help me figure out what to do with this truck

2wd you say.... I'd keep it for a rainy day.....then fix the front clip, or put on an front clip from another year that you like best. Get a box/fenders for it and slam that baby to the ground where she belongs! Do a simple 350 build, put dual exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers on it and she...

What have you done to your square lately??

To be honest I'm not sure if it increases the load capacity or not....in my humble opinion I don't think it would increase that, but could "maybe" help stability a little bit. I think it's more of a cool factor than an actual useful thing to have. The guy built it back in '83 or '84 and this...

What have you done to your square lately??

I coulda turned her back into a single rear and had some serious bad@$S spikes for my lugs!!! (These are the hexes the spacers go over in the kit)....if I just had me some bullet shaped ends to put on them :anitoof:

What have you done to your square lately??

Prior to above....these are the dually kit spacers.

What have you done to your square lately??

Got my new tires mounted to rims, with my NOS caps. Nicest looking damned items on the truck! Not a lot of room in the rear, my finger touches the tire and fender, somebody lowered it too far :Big Laugh: Looks cool though, I like the filled in look.

    14 bolt brake drum question

@scrap--metal here is a pic from a while back on my dually-----originally a single rear 76 GMC full float, 14 bolt corporate---with a dually conversion done to it, so drums should be the same. Mine look like crap, but they are actually quite new with very little wear. I think someone replaced...

    1975 GMC Suburban--Project partially started for $2k

Stumbled across this when I was looking for other things I technically do not need, and wanted to share it! If this baby was a crew cab of that era, with this much done---I would be on my way to get it, then tell you guys :Big Laugh: Looks like a lot of work has already gone into it...

OEM grille for '78 GMC Sierra Classic

Good luck to you in the search! Took me forever it seems to find my 76 GMC grill and ended up buying the whole damned truck for parts just to get it.

    Any Green Squares?

Yeah---but she is my parts truck for my dually. 76 GMC. The green is neat, with the white roof. Kinda grows on a guy. I thought it was ugly at first, but now I like it. I've not seen GMC hubcaps like this before either--were they common?

What have you done to your square lately??

Was doing some wiring cleanup tonight under the hood. Saw some shiny below. My pea brain says "hey, there shouldn't be shiny under the truck on the floor". $h!t. Oh well, could be worse. I assume stupid aftermarket chrome transmission dipstick not put on by me has failed to seal....again. So...

Can I fix this by cutting out and only replacing outer?

Oh, here is that puller I have I mentioned earlier. Works awesome.

Can I fix this by cutting out and only replacing outer?

Too bad we don't live closer, I'd be willing to help you out! To expand on what @TotalyHucked stated the welding can do some warping. However, a quick tack, then opposite end of panel another quick tack....basically all over the place jumping around until done would help this to not happen, but...

Can I fix this by cutting out and only replacing outer?

In my opinion, a few different ways to do this, and depends on what you want your outcome to be when completed. You could replace the side as mentioned above. You could also replace the whole box with another white one if you found one somewhere, and basic tools to replace it, or of a different...

    Question for C30 Dually owners.

True: he worked on many of these rigs when they were new, and my dad also had a 78 Suburban, Trailering Special, 454 and 2wd. Beautiful rig too, pulled the old Wilderness camper like a **** after he removed smog crap and updated internals on the engine....sorry, I digressed. His had a limited...

How to time my engine, with a cam degreed at 1.25 degrees advanced??

Thanks for that info Ricko. I have actually not timed it yet, I took another few steps back once again on it and have the valve-train taken apart right now to put in adjustable rockers & heavier pushrods. Once I get it back together I will be re-firing it and then start to tinker with the timing...

    What’s up with this fuel?

I would agree with condensation in the metal can. You trying out plastic would be the way to go, I always use plastic gas cans and mix a ton of 2-stroke in the winter for my old snowmobiles. What exactly are you using AV fuel for anyhow? I would suggest not using that, and stick with no higher...

My daily driver has me stumped--No start/Slow start issue

Here is the short update: New starter installed, that was the problem, it runs great. Here is the long update: Brought the other "new" one back to Oreillys and the guy let me go to watch him test it, he put it on their machine, and when it activated the starter you could damned near count the...
