Idle timing

RockAuto- 4x4 front drive shaft, '81 K20 -Rock Auto
I bought a Dorman 2 piece driveshaft for my C20 from Rockauto this year. Very good quality, all parts spicer and built on order. Local shop in Austria quoted 3500$ for it.- ali_c20

Whatcha do with that...?
I keep stuff that is not broken or repair/rebuildable. It's way harder, time consuming and more expensive to get parts in Europe. I sell parts to car/ truck owner who want or have to keep their rides original. Very often a repaired old part is way better than the aftermarket stuff from Asia. -
Stripping paint off instrument panel
Try acetone or other chemicals on the back. Mechanically removing the paint will damage or scratch the chrome. -

Fuel return diy
I run oil catch cans on my trucks. I was surprised how much oil and whatever they catch. It is definetely a good add on and you can check how much oil is drawn through the pcv. For a system with return I would go the route with a 3 port sending unit, move the pressure gauge to the fuel line with...- ali_c20

1999 454 carb swap. best street carb, 600? 650? 750? CFM
The AVS 2 has a great throttle response. I run a 500 cfm on my crate 350 in my K5. I calculated the cfm I need with a carb size calculator. I feared it would be to small but it runs better than ever before. Order a tuning kit with the carb.- ali_c20

Question on upgrading gauges
I did it for my 74 C20 cluster. It had idiot lights, ammeter and no tach. I used the Lmc gauges. I put in a tach, small fuel gauge, voltmeter, electrical oil pressure gauge and temp gauge. It's all plug and play, you only need the matching printed circuit which is also available from Lmc.- ali_c20

Timing Tab Installation
Many after market timing tabs are to high and cover the marks on the balancer. Get a old one and rebuild or a nos. The adjustable billet ones are good but sometimes they are to thick and rub on the balancer which leads to grinding off material on a new nice part. Ask me how I know....- ali_c20
