    Car Hauler tips/tricks/ideas

Yup! In February 1988, we had to move 14 cars off a property that was in the family, but having to be sold. Did it over 4 days, with the '81 Sierra 305 and a borrowed trailer, a riding lawnmower with a chain, and a couple of come alongs. Dad and I definitely got a workout! We were hauling the...

Brought home my first square body. 1980 Silverado C10. Utah

I want to say, that he posted a front end pic in another thread, and IIRC it was a 1980 grille with the square holes. I think it was this truck....

Can't decide what to do. Suggestions? Thoughts?

That sounds like my OBS 350 trucks. Burb is half ton with 3.42 rear axle and overdrive. Turns around 1700-1800 RPM at 70 indicated on the speedo. Big truck has 4.10 in a 14 bolt FF, and the 4L80E. Does about the same, and the engine is happy in both cases. Burb tows in D because 4L60E....

    LMC Dash Pad Supplier

Yup I was surprised how much of the early style console is cast metal. The OBS torpedo style is plastic, and they are easy to break.

Can't decide what to do. Suggestions? Thoughts?

Nothing wrong with a properly set up 350! Chevy small blocks will still be going strong when all the LS' have quit!

What have you done to your square lately??

The O'Reilly's I bought my calipers and hoses from, a week ago, didn't have any of the M2 ornaments yet. When I took the caliper cores back Wednesday, they'd come in....and all that was left was the Chevy van and the Dodge pickup. No square body dually....

What have you done to your square lately??

Crews are great...as long as you got plenty of room to turn them around in!

    87 Half ton crew cab

Love this truck, beautiful work y'all have done! Looks like it left Detroit like that!(Or Flint GM Truck and Bus plant, where the "factory" Crew Cabs are built/modified). Dad always wanted a square body Crew Cab, but we had 5 square body Burbs. Now I have an OBS Crew Cab.

    LMC Dash Pad Supplier

I remember finding decent square body dash pads in the wrecking yards, back in the day....if we had money extra, after getting what we needed for our trucks in that trip, we'd get them and resell them at the swap meets. But that was 20-25 years ago, when square body trucks weren't as Hip and...

GMT400 no defrost on drivers side

The doors and motors for them are prone to wearing out. Also the gaskets/seals shrink and then you get air coming out different places than it's supposed to. Blower motor also could be weak; I replaced the one on my crew cab a couple years ago and it really made me realize how worn out the...

What have you done to your square lately??

I've heard from many sources that Pennsylvania vehicle inspections are notoriously picky. Especially about frame and body rust.....

What have you done to your square lately??

Yup, all a vehicle 25 years old or older needed to be inspected for, was the safety inspection. Emissions inspections are for 24 years old and newer vehicles, in certain counties. The urban and suburban counties, and Bexar County falls into that group in '26. And yup, I see hoopties every day...

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

I had a few of those figurines, back in the day....they may still be in a box in the shop or in storage. We've moved so many times.....

    Entering a show on Saturday.

That T Bird is a '64 with the pretty rare Sports Roadster tonneau cover and wire wheels. That was a trim level on the '62 and '63, and the parts were available for the '64 but I don't think any were ever actually built that way. Even the '62-'63 are not that common anymore.... These are some of...

What new tools have you got lately?

That is something I need to do in my shop building -- organize, clean up and get rid of stuff I don't need. I'm doing a little bit of the last one at every swap meet, and selling things on here and the OBS/400 forum. In my case, I have some of the homemade shelving (2x4s and plywood) from our...

Flat 10 hole wheel covers, 15" and 16"?

Don't have these any more, they're in Illinois on a guy's truck. He bought them on the OBS/400 forum; these trucks also used these as a full wheel cover. 15" for 2wd half tons, 16" for 4x4 and 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. Technically the 4x4 ones for the squares have a hole in the front pair for the...

    Dino's GM truck show Nov. 15 - 16

I know some guys on the OBS/400 forum in Arizona and out that way, that always go. It's a great show I'm sure, but a bit of a hike for me.~ 1200 miles one way, to Phoenix from Houston, and half of that is between Austin and El Paso....
