87’ 350 tbi hot start issue

Check the fuel pump relay jump it with a fused test lead. That truck has a redundant fuel pump circuit. Ecm is supposed to turn the fuel pump on for a couple of seconds to start then after that when the ecm senses a tach signal it keeps the pump running via the fuel pump relay. There is an oil...

    Rear end fluid

I'd just drill a hole in the cover tac a piece of flat stock or a nut on the inside of the cover. The nut or flat stock doesn't need a full weld, use a bolt with a sealing washer on the outside to prevent leaks. I could tell you how to do it with no welder or torch if absolutely necessary. Eye...

    82 style bunper fog lights

Was this marker specifically for a squarebody? They have a very, very unusual wiring sequence for the marker lights, they reverse polarity depending on the function they are providing at the time( most LEDs are not bidirectional) and they provide a path to ground for I forget if it's turn signal...

    broken spark plug

Crank the engine with no plug in it to help blow out shavings, grease your drill bit to catch shavings. I've drilled and tapped oil passages on assembled engines, grease the bit and tap the shavings stick to the grease

    TBI spare parts

It's going to get that way here if we don't start paying attention to where we spend our money. I know everyone thinks I'm chicken little,or the boy crying wolf. I've seen too many local and American businesses fold because that can't compete on price.Everyone only thinks about saving a dollar...

    Lost Power to Power Windows.

Does everything else work except for the windows?

    Lost Power to Power Windows.

Power windows should be run off of a breaker, breaker is hot with key in run position. Did you check the breaker? Was the key on? Window motors ground to the door frame so that shouldn't be an issue.

Motorbike ramps : how to secure them ?

I would make 4 J hooks out of 1 x 1/4 inch strap,2 per ramp. I've put up pictures but not accurate pictures they need to be much longer and the 2 bolt holes further apart so you can get 2 carriage bolts 2 wing nuts and some washers in each ramp and j hook through existing cut outs. I'd make my...

Never heard of penetrol until just now,so IDK where it fits in. But @Redbeard truck is sweet, and he gave us his formula I believe it is mineral spirits and boiled linseed oil.

    82 style bunper fog lights

If it's got clear lenses it's supposed to use 1157NA. NA stands for Natural Amber. It's just an orange tinted bulb.

    82 style bunper fog lights

You didn't take the bulb out right or the base was just siezed in the socket. You can most likely reach in with needle nose, grip the bulb base which is still in the socket push in and turn counter clockwise 90 degrees, then pull out. See the 2 nubs? They need to be lined up with the grooves in...

JamesSam's TBI Code 21 Test Thread

Just,to clarify,so others don't read this and think these trucks are OBD1 they are not OBD1 they are a proprietary system of GMs edit.the reason I said anything is people read OBD1 and.immediately assume they can buy an obd1.scanner and be good to go. But they can't. They need a tech.1 or Snap...

    Finally got a running 65 C10

Couple of things I'd try depending on where everything is at. Freeze a new freeze plug the day before you install it and warm the block with a propane torch. It should just about fall in.If you need a driver flip an appropriate socket backwards and put it on a wobbly universal use whatever...

    Brights flashing with right turn

As long as the engine has a good ground to the battery, then alternator bracket to frame is fine for chassis ground. But you do need three good grounds 1 to body,1 to engine,1 to frame.

3” header back exhaust pipe kit for 2wd?

I never liked that chart. I prefer this one.Look and see what size exhaust Lingenfelter was using on high horsepower Corvettes if there was more power to be made going bigger he would have done it.

I think a rod spun a bearing in my rebuilt 454

Forged internals would have done nothing to prevent this. You don't need new pistons,454 Vette rods are Forged, and 99 percent of people will never have an issue with a cast crank. And Forged cranks break also. Also forged pistons have to run with looser clearances in the bore,so more piston slap...

    Numerous Lighting Issues

Run a volt drop test on all three headlight wires. That will tell you exactly which circuit or circuits have a problem. Once that's established you can trouble shoot that circuit running volt drop tests on different sections of the wire run. A dimmer switch is so stupid to trouble shoot 0...

I think a rod spun a bearing in my rebuilt 454

I'd be more inclined to use ARP studs and a main girdle on a 2 bolt. I've actually never Been a big fan of 4 bolts, seen more cracked 4 bolts than 2 bolts. Is it due to extra holes weakening things,is it they are more likely to get run hard,do the extra bolts take the flex out if the block so it...
