Needs MORE POWER!!! (Tim Taylor Style!!!)

A cam and a better set of heads, even just stock type heads with 64cc chambers would be an improvement over the ones currently on it. Possibly even a full rebuild with a set of flat tops.

Needs MORE POWER!!! (Tim Taylor Style!!!)

As for the block the pistons could be anything, a scope could allow you to see if they are flat or dished. The heads are basically crap as far as performance is concerned

Needs MORE POWER!!! (Tim Taylor Style!!!)

76cc chamber with small valves. There's one thing you could improve on without a full rebuild, small chamber heads with the bigger valves however at that point id do a cam and lifter set as well while I was in there. Also yes if the blocks ever been decked it'll wipe those numbers behind the...

Needs MORE POWER!!! (Tim Taylor Style!!!)

In stock form a 400 made a whopping 150-265HP year and application dependent. With a bit of a cam probably a towing or RV cam all else stock 2-300 depending on which piston type and or head was used. The right way to make more power is to rebuild it put in a set of flat top pistons, 64 cc...

    aftermarket heads

Summit sells Vortec heads capable of .525 lift and thread in studs complete. These require a vortec intake manifold. The older style cast heads will most likely have press in studs which I would never trust and would have to have machined for screw in studs before even considering using...
