700R4 went out while towing. Culprit?

+1 on what Matt69olds posted. And trans cooler. Generally should tow in 3rd if it shifts alot when in od. Probably overheated, then burned some clutches and then clogged filter causing only being able to drive for a minute or so.

Has anybody seen a 7.4-454 with a little square tag on the right side behind the motor mount?

Shows as a standard 7.4 crate motor according to the part number. GM crate engines had the tags. Here is one from an 8.0l

    Seats

For trucks and suburban either use original brackets and modify them to fit gmt400 seat or reshape the floors. Also can modify the gmt400 brackets I believe. On a k5 should fit with just drilling new holes

89-91 Suburban overhead console. Worth it?

I had one on a 91. Good storage, lights and helps hold head liner in place. Have a spare overhead console as well

    Windshield Drain Holes?

They are drains. If using urethane to set the windshield, can be deleted. Otherwise should keep open path for water to drain down.

    tbi chip

I am guessing it is 3rd gen fbody tbi to be installed on a truck motor. Injectors are different 305 vs 350 tbi and chip has to match.

Any shops/persons in Texas to do LS Swap?

Things are a lot easier with all current aftermarket, but there are still shops that do weird things. Plenty of shops do good work. Hangman performance in Houston does well. Not sure in Austin. If time line not as crucial, I could help with the swap.

    tbi chip

88 firebird could be tbi or tpi. For TBI, staying with stock truck cam it should run fine if on 305 motor. For a 350, chip would need to be burned

Got the itch to get another toy

I have been looking for gmc typhoon, or zr2 blazer. But prices for most have went too high up. Also missed out on a reasonably priced 1800es. Would be nice to find ls swapped blazer xtreme (s10)

    old travel trailer

Only thing I accomplished this week is put a tarp on top and take a picture of the back.

    old travel trailer

Roof is the easy part, it is the floor support that has me concerned. Trailer it self is free if I can fix/use it, but end goal would be to sell it by August as I do not have a place to store it.

    old travel trailer

It would cost $500 in materials to get the roof sorted, and was about to order things when I noticed the body sag.

    old travel trailer

There is a very old roof leak towards the corner that I found(soft substrate on the roof about 8 sq in), which made me think that corner is toast due to water damage. Going to move it to my house for closer inspection next week, but thinking this might be only suitable for a deer lease type set up.

    old travel trailer

Been looking at repairing an old travel trailer and figured to post here as I have never been on any camping forums. Seeing if anybody had experience with one. It is 25 ft long, really needs roof recovered, battery and tires. Inside is still decent other than refrigerator missing. AC works...

    New "Old" Daily - 8.1L

Was excited to order from lseat, but they do not show gmt400 seat covers. Might email them and see if they can still make them. Thanks for the link

Been looking at the seat shop for covers, but bit expensive. Looks good

    Headliner from RockAuto?

I had the curved areas separate some after few years on my 91. Was thinking that the backing was curved too much when new headliner was glued and it got slowly pulled away in bends few years after install.

    Headliner from RockAuto?

I went the glue route with new material when doing headliner on 91. Worth taking it out and taking a look first to see if backing is good. Otherwise shipping is currently expensive

    It’s official, I’m a nerd

I was too late to that game. Only had enough to offset body shop cost in painting my TA

    It’s official, I’m a nerd

I would have one if it was not for the price. But then so are many other vehicle possibilities.

1991 V2500 Suburban sound insulation project

Just standard 1/8 should be enough on door skin. At the end the major noise sources I had were through windshield and side glass

1991 V2500 Suburban sound insulation project

There were couple of pieces on door skins as well. Doors sounded solid when closing
