    Thanks for the replies. I'll climb in there tomorrow hopefully, if not, it will be a few months to get it opened from the inside. It's already at our new house, I'll in the process of moving on top of everything else, we have open houses etc scheduled for the weekend.

    That's why I'm trying to get the tailgate open, to remove the inside cover. I have shoulder surgery scheduled monday so I'm working with 1.5 arms and I really don't want to climb around inside the truck.

    I tried running it both directions until the motor changed pitch and I got sort of a thump, it's hard to see down inside the door to check direction. The inside handle won't open at either "end" of travel. Dang.
