    Disassemble both sides of the axle (you can leave the knuckles on), drain your fluid, pull the axles out about 6 inches, remove the ring and pinion completely buy replacement parts as needed and reinstall it all. However I'm going to speak for every one and say we all wish it were that easy...

    Or you can always fill it full of old tranny fluid to the top to keep the moisture out. Then flush it out when you get ready to use it drain it and do what you need to do.

    What's the reason why you won't go 14 bolt is it the lug pattern. If so tm did make a 5 lug semi floating 14 bolt and a 6 lug. All you would have to is move the spring perches. However like mentioned earlier a need 12 bolt would hold up also.

    I know they exist they actually came factory on chevy conversion vans. my questions are how hard are they to find, are the dimensions the same, how much of a hassle would it be to do the conversion on an 84 silvy k10?

    dimensions I went ahead and took the liberty of finding out the measurements. Seat across=19.5in Seat back to front=20in Total height 38in Back across 21in Back height 29.5in
