    Thanks, when I removed it the vacuum advance was all the way against the fire wall so I'm going to try and drop the housing in shoo there's plenty of room all around. I'll be timing from scratch as I didn't mark anything.

    Well I replaced the pump anyways but when I dropped the pump the drive shaft was loose and the collar was broken. The bolt on the pump was also finger tight. All I can think of is it wasn't meshed with distributor when I torqued it down

    In the process of priming the new pump through the distributor housing using the priming tool. I'm using my 18 bolt cordless Dewalt. All I can get is 15 psi no higher is this because of the lack of speed coming from the drill?

    The po had led replacement bulbs in my truck. I thought they sucked so I swapped then back over to regular bulbs. It's user preference. I didn't think they were any brighter. Try removing the clear cluster cover and clean it.might help too mine was full of dust.

    Mine has been fine for several years now. Use the torque bars off the side of the 205 to the bell housing.to distribute some of the weight

    What am I looking for when I put the new oil pump on, how do I know if it is positively engaged. I always figured if it didn't bolt up Then it was In a bind? Is there more to it?

    Pulled the power to the hei and cranked for about 3 min total In 30 sec intervals. Plugged back in and fired up and still no pressure. Lots of valve train noise this time... is it possible to bolt up the oil pump with the drive shaft I'm the wrong position? I figured it would have bound up not...

    It was a bitch to install, it was very tight and this particular pickup uses a tab that bolts to bottom of the oil pump. It's got hei, do I just pull the mini harness plug with 3 wires (I think) off the side?

    Everything went super smooth, up until I fired it up. Started and Ran for 3-4 seconds probably 4 separate times. Waiting for the gauge to show me something... I replaced the oil pan And pickup tube with+ 1 quart unit from summit racing. I put seven quarts in and primed the new filter...

    today i scored the headliner backing from a parts truck for my crew cab off craigslist for 20 bucks. it has about a 3inch triangle piece missing off a corner. how would i go about fixing this??? needs to be repaired before it will be getting recovered. thanks :cheers:

    Those are probably ladder bars. Usually used in conjunction with big ass lift blocks. They also limit wrap but there primary purpose is to keep the rear axle in check... I think they are gayer than a 2 peckered Billy goat. Don't put those on your truck.

    Sounds like a similar problem I had, turned out it was missing a small o ring where the head screws onto the mixer valve. It ended up blowing up in my hand tryingn to troubleshoot it...be careful...

    I'd stay away from that transmission, not worth the time to do the swap. if you really want the benifit of extra gear do a 4l80. ive blown up 4 4l65s behind my iron block ls1 in my 01 pickup and its a never ending problem. just not ment to be driven hard. thats my opinion

    I used 13oz of steel bb ammo in 33x12.5 tel bias ply and 36x13.5 iroks. Both chunked up pretty good from rocks wheeling. And they balanced great at highway speeds. although when you hit a pot hole all hell would break loose and you could actually here the bbs crashing into the steel wheel...
