    Hello From Atlanta

I've already gotten some great information and help from this site, but I figured I'd formally introduce myself. I've owned several GM vehicles over the years (currently also have 1980 Caprice 2 door Landau - in the paint shop), but this is my first pick-up, 1979 Bonanza SWB. I searched...

How To Remove Air Pump? Or Should I?

all i took off was the pump, the tubes, the diverter and it's associated hoses. the diverter is the part which for me was pretty much right above the pump, that basically connects the pump to the two "rails" of tubes that run to each side's exhaust manifold. it was pretty much a necessity...

    New Truck, First Problem

So I finally got this all figured out...I did replace the fuel pump, fuel filter and the fuel line that I messed up, no biggie, but still wasn't getting fuel to to the carb. I got it towed to my buddy's shop and once we got it on the lift the puzzle pieces began to fall in place. Turns out...

Thanks for letting me know. I finished removing it all today and I saved the stuff; the tubes are not useable, but I have the rest if anyone is looking.

How To Remove Air Pump? Or Should I?

ok, i see. my engine is setup where the same belt drives the alternator and the air pump, and i've already taken the alternator and belt off, but it sounds like the easiest thing will be to put them both back on and use the tension to loosen the air pump pulley bolts.

How To Remove Air Pump? Or Should I?

As I understand it, looks like the pully has to come off the air pump to access the bolts behind it. What's the best way to get those 3 pulley bolts off since the pulley wants to be a pully and spin? I'm guessing jam it with another wrench on one of the other bolts, but that will only work on...

How To Remove Air Pump? Or Should I?

hey guys, as i'm working through my other issue (http://www.gmsquarebody.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16549) i'm wondering about the air pump it sits right below the alternator and is kind of in the way of me dealing with the fuel pump and new fuel line. i've seen many other trucks without...

    Turn signal lever

not trying to hijack your thread, but i have similar question about my 79 c10. my turn signal lever is missing the knob. i have several other levers with knobs laying around that are the yank-out variety, but the one on my 79 doesn't seem to yank out. in fact, when i look in the column where...

    New Truck, First Problem

Well tuned out Oreilys sent the wrong line kit, but ended up being for the best, because I found that Summit has the pre-bent hard line for much less. Hopefully that will be there in a day or two and I can proceed. Argh, more waiting...lol. The Q-Jet looks original but seems to be OK from...

    New Truck, First Problem

thanks for all the good info everyone! i started off this morning going down Jesse's list - i didn't see any gas squirting into the bowl on the carb, so went to check the fuel filter and the fuel link kinked *doh!*. so i'm waiting on Oreilys to get the line kit in, but the filter did looks...

    New Truck, First Problem

Hello All, I recently purchased my first C10, a 1979 Bonanza, stock 350. It arrived today on a transporter, and after checking all the fluids and a quick look around, I was excited to start driving it. Everything was fine all day, no problems, until tonight, when after turning a corner at...
