    Front leaf spring bolt

I lied. Got the Rock Auto ones. I liked the ones from ORD but their shipping prices just were insulting for the bolts. There are some things I don't mind spending money on but some things that just hurt my sensibilities. I'll pay $1500 for a TV or a turbo or something, but ill be damned if i'm...

    Front leaf spring bolt

At those prices I'm half tempted to buy 2 in each size just so they are waiting when I get back to town . :)

    Front leaf spring bolt

Looks like the standard across many trucks is to cut them out when they get rowdy and stuck. Considering the level of rust I'm battling for this frame off resto, I want to cut mine to install new leaf springs on the front. Rear bolt on the leaf soring came out easy peasy. The front....even the...

Bought a 1984 parts truck... how can i use the fenders/hood?

The 84 does have double tanks and I wanted to steal both of them during the swap as well. I've been searching for a while now and haven't found a good long bed with the round filler cap. Good to know the doors and fenders are a direct swap though. After working outside from 7am-11pm...

Bought a 1984 parts truck... how can i use the fenders/hood?

Tried to search but I guess the search function on this site hates me. I needed a new bed (among many other things) and found a complete truck minus motor/trans for $250 with a good bed. I plan to steal parts from it and since my hood and fenders are already rusted, what does it take to do...

    Under bed support braces?

I have about the rustiest truck ever, especially considering it's not even from the rust belt. The bed floor is rusted completely through and two of the support beams that run cross way under the bed (where the bolts run into) are rusted as well. I have been looking on Brother's, Classic...

    Found on eBay Listings

I feel like asking the seller if that is a correct price. If it's not, cool they can fix it. If it is, we can all have a good laugh. :gathering:

    Are Drip Rails necessary?

Good to know. Mine were held on by rivets but they were garbage. Luckily it looks like one of the few places the truck doesn't have rust at. I will definitely be leaving the drip rails off. Looks so much cleaner without the rails or the side moldings.

    Are Drip Rails necessary?

Going to be painting the truck soon and I think it looks cleaner without the drip rails above the door. Any adverse issues with not putting them back on?

Hatzie, you are awesome. Not sure how I missed the floor on the website. I must have been drunk.

    Replacement bed floor?

I've done some searching and can't find a replacement bed. Given I'm fairly new to this build and generation of truck so I only know of a few sites. But what I find is that I can replace every single panel of the bed from places like LMC yet I can't find the bed floor. I have a 1976 GMC...

    Texas - 5.3 engine/4l60e trans/harness/ecu stand alone

I am picking up the 76 next week. Then I'll tear into it and see if the motor is worth salvaging or not. If you have this in a month, I'll probably be game and I'm in Texas.

Comments. go with a crate or rebuild the orig 305 block

Not that most people care or drive these things for hypermilling, but what kind of MPG would the L31-R get, for that matter what about the crate 350s? I am contemplating the ease of a crate 350 swap compared to the hassle of a 5.3/4l80e swap in the 76. I won't be driving this all the time but...

    Howdy from Hutto! '87 R1500 6.0/4L80e

Subscribing to this thread. Just joined as I am fixing up my mom's first truck - 76 k15 sierra Grande. Unfortunately my grandfather has had it for the last 20 years and has just beat the crap out of it. Will be a lot of work and certainly could have found a better truck to start with but...
