Minor problem became large with McGaughy spindle

Let's see if this works. The first pic is the flange on the inside of the spindle where the caliper bolt threads into. Possibly because I was using new rotors and new pads? This is what I had to grind it down to in order to make it work. I tried several times to make it work with less...

I am going to install the Vintage AC in my 1979

Great, please do. Did you lose your glove box from the install? I read that you do, which isn't something I would want to lose.

Minor problem became large with McGaughy spindle

So in my last post I had described that I had to grind down the machined area on the spindle where the caliper bolts screw into. We tonight, after having to grind down more from last night, I discovered that the lower caliper bolt wouldn't make all the way through to the other side because it...

minor inconvenience with McGauhhy's drop spindles

Yeah I've never experienced anything like that. I had to grind both the upper and lower areas to get them on. I still can't get the passenger side on yet, so I'm going to have to grind some more. Thanks about the brakes lines. I thought about that, but really don't want to do more damage...

    vintage air system

Does using the VA system completely eliminate the glove box? Since I know so little about AC systems, if mine doesn't work, I'm considering going with VA since it comes with everything that I would need. Since you're also in Bako, is there a place in town that you would recommend to do an...

minor inconvenience with McGauhhy's drop spindles

Anyone else have to grind off part of the spindle where the caliper bolts thread into? When putting on new rotor and pads last night there was just under 1/8" that I had to grind out to get everything to fit properly. I was a little unhappy about that. Also, were you able to use either your...

I am going to install the Vintage AC in my 1979

Nice! I'm thinking of getting this for my 73. Did the system require the new pulleys or could you have used your old ones? Do you have any pics of the installed system in your engine bay? Thanks.

1" vs 1.25" Brake help needed

Why don't you ship me your spindles for the 1.25" rotors and I'll ship you mine for the 1" rotors. I found out yesterday that I had ordered the wrong ones while trying to put it all together. They are in a box and ready to ship back to McGaughys tomorrow. They are on my 73.

Please school me on spindles and brakes

I recently picked up a 73 C-10 Cheyenne and have been ordering parts like crazy for it. One of the first items that I ordered was a lowering kit from McGaughys. I had the option of ordering for a LD truck (1" wide rotor), or a HD truck (1.25" wide rotor). I finally get everything back from...

    Blinkers not working

So when pulling out the hazard flasher I destroyed it. Picked up two more and when I have the right blinker on, I hear the flasher clicking and the right rear blinker comes on. No others do however. Thinking that the main problem is still in the blinker switch in the column. Oh well. I have one...

    Where is my paint code?

Hey all, I can't find my paint code. It's not in the driver door jam or in the glove box. Any place else that I need to look? Thanks in advance. Brandon

    Blinkers not working

Working on making sure that everything works on my new purchase and discovered that the blinkers don't work. The hazards will work, but neither if the blinkers. My original thought is that the switch assembly in the column is broken. All the fuses are good in the panel. Any other ideas...

    New member from Bakersfield, CA

Hi All! Stoked that I found a forum that actually has up to date information. I recently picked up a 73 Super Cheyenne that I'm currently working on. In the middle of rebuilding the front end, changing out the interior, lowering it, etc, etc, etc. It has the 350 in it, and a 700R4...
