    Carb issues?

    You can remove the choke but it may make it hard to start in cold or chilly weather... It is racing most likely because the step mechanism on the choke is stuck on the high step. It is right between the choke assy and the carb on the front right corner of carb ( pass side)

    Sounds like maby the fuel pump pressure regulator spring is stuck... I would test the fuel pump pressure.. should be no more that 4 or 5 psi If I remember right.. to much pressure can flood the carb..

    Too slow to low

    Turn the screw clockwise to raise the shift points and counter clockwise to lower shift points. no more than 1 turn at a time and test drive than adjust more if not where you wand it. Raising the shift point will also raise the pressure during the shift.. so it will have a firmer shift too..

    The wire is only hot when the motor is running which means the alt is charging the batt... no other time so it don't drain the battery...

    I just ran a +12 volt wire from the positive side of ignition coil to the choke wire .. The +12 volt wire is only hot when the ignition is on and truck is running.. no other wires needed... works well for me..

    Yea I just got the truck last week... but no it does not have a trans cooler... And yes it is going to be a work in progress so gonna make some changes to trim too,, I need to detail the engine compartment it is pretty dirty,,, but will post pics when I get it cleaned up

    I had mine on a 1967 Mustang restoration "Chromed" of all things.... Looked great at World of Wheels and with mirrors placed right really help set off the under carriage ... Go figure !

    I think that some models routed the filler tube into the wheelwell in front of the pass rear tire too
