    Trans Mount Spacers

I heard from wizards of old... and maybe he was a blowing the smoke but.... He said those spacers were used so GM could use the same length bolt in multiple locations. Rather than stocking multiple lengths they just had spacers. Edited Typo Also added Id toss the crusty bolts and buy the...

    Drink holder question?

https://www.brotherstrucks.com/1947-87-CHEVY_GMC-TRUCK-CUSTOM-CENTER-CONSOLE_CUPHOLDER/productinfo/CCC0100/ I have that old Igloo one in my truck. But it’s too small for most drinks so this is my next choice. someone on here is affiliated with one similar. But I can’t remember who.

    Crossmember

I yanked em off and didn’t put em back on. Probably people out there will say it needs it for frame alignment. But a hitch would do that on the rear one and the front one I think is inboard enough to not be an issue.

    Lateral movement, rear axle.

Possible the clip that holds the axle in fell out or was mistakenly left out during the last service. Maybe it even sheared off. Gotta pull the center pin and push the axle shafts inward to inspect it.

Good news is I found my “vents” They’re some leftover gutter grates I used for a rodent problem on a buddy’s house. Probably could have left em aluminum for some contrast but I hit em with some paint.

That makes more sense. My fault then, as is most issues LOL. I used all oem junkyard pets for the vents and figured I’d order the W factory AC kit since I didn’t want the Vents. And there we see it biting me in the ass. I’ll probably Rivet it in as yours was.

Haha I removed the all the guts over a year ago when I dynamat the interior. Back when I did it then I found some change and a thermometer.. I remember my dad used to keep it on the dash. It was originally a NON ac truck. I’m sure he did it to remind himself how much he wanted AC.

Lowering kit is lower than expected... issues!!

I always like the parts these guys offered. I’ll probably install these to cover up my wiring. Dunno if they’d help someone with wheel clearance issues.

Does anyone know of a company that sells grilles for the defrost vents? Any custom one out there? I’m thinking of just laying some screen under the dash on top of the vent.

Put the hoses on the defrost vents then dropped em down through and modified the cross vent. I don’t plan on using the upper driver side vent so I blocked it off the evap. I prefer the shelf I have there. I’m sure it’ll be cold enough when the time comes.

I used this little pick to make sure everything was lined up on the bottom bolt. Now let’s talk about this inner bracket. Instructions say to pre drill a 3/16 then run the provided bolts through. That’s a bitch my drill would not fit up there with a bit in it. Instead I opted for the self...

For the two mounting holes that the evaporator mounts to I drilled and tapped them for a 1/4-20 I went inside the cab and lined up the bolt to the top evap bolt I could see Propped the evap up on some tools went back inside and ran the bolts in. This allowed me to do it myself.

Mounted up the plate and drew on the holes. Two are supposed to be 2” openings and two are 1 1/8. After drilling the two inch hole, I shit my pants. It’s way too large. I went back and forth with it saying but that’s what the book says and drilled it any way. I shouldn’t have. The next one I...

    Fuel tank relocation??

I love the dual saddle tanks. My pops had my truck when I was a kid and it being a 73 originally came with the one tank on the drivers side. Someone before he got it put an 80s bed bud left the one tank. I promised myself that when I got it I was going to finish off the dual tank. I thought...

My girl has the LM7 in her from a 02 truck. LS is pretty nice. Makes daily driving much a gooder. When I LS swapped it I shaved the wall and removed all HVAC. It made rain driving a pain. I’d fog up quick LOL. But we are on our way.
