There are numerous brands and shades of semi gloss black available in powder coat, I am confident you will find one that is a match. In my situation, subletting stuff like this out keeps the project from getting stalled. Close enough is good enough for my drivers.
With regards to the old...
For the amount of time you have removing, screwing around, sanding, and painting, I thought it was more cost and time effective to just take them to a powdercoater. They came out far nicer than I could have ever sprayed and far more durable.
Thank you BennyT
Also, different trucks had different ride heights. My '82 with 56" springs being a heavy half ton sat higher than my '87 with 52" springs, both short beds
My buddy is into 70's thru 90's full sized Dodge vans.........yeah, I know:rolleyes:, he is still my buddy though. Freaking Mopar guys, all the same.
There is a group of guys that started using them to haul their racing motorcycles and then began modifying them, lowering them , building...
I remain happily married.....for another day :happy107: Until the next auction.....:rotflmao::rotflmao::laughing1:
I listened to it live and watched it carefully, IMO, a couple fell threw the cracks or were not bid to what the owner thought it was worth. Transportation costs and the 15%...
I took a couple pictures of a truck at a local auction a couple years ago, it was a 1980 from Canada and was represented as 443 original miles and original paint so I am pretty sure this is how it was delivered
If I understand the story right, this guy owns "Restore" which is a large restoration place in Nebraska, they used to do Trans Ams but always kept an eye out for the right trucks when they came available and ended up with this collection. You would never be able to assemble this collection...
Who is going to this? Looks interesting, rarest of the rare most of them builders.
Desert Fox, Street Coupe, Indy Pace Car, Sno Chaser, Outdoorsman, Chalet, WOW!!!

I would have to run 93 to 60 to 303 to get on my side of Phoenix.
The amount of work it takes to get a vehicle to the level your family has done is incredible. You don't fully understand until you get into it. I am thinking I am hot stuff car builder because I powder coated my frame...
Because it was an inoperable, before dealing with flat tires and such, $2500 in the weeks prior and I am sure would had been $2700 or more closer to Memorial Day. I had one brought back from Davis CA which is somewhat near there late last year for $800 that ran and drove. Freight is ridiculous...
I am not a big fan of 93, something about that road just makes me uneasy. People drive too fast, it switches to single lanes too often. This is the road from Kingman to Wickenberg.
I don't plan on doing this again any time soon.
I saw the thread when it was current and reached out to Hoagster, made an offer that I felt was fair and realistic based on the pictures.
First thing I want to say, Hoagster is a stand up, straight shooting, great guy. He would not accept any money for the lead or brokering and without him...
Just change out any suspect fuel hoses or lines to eliminate the possibility. It's possible to be deteriorated inside causing partial blockage. Rubber hoses can leak air in but not leak fuel externally, this usually causes a no start or long extended crank to bring the fuel back up then would...
I am curious about the drop springs vs flipping the axle.
I have already purchased the 3" drop leaf springs for a '87 GMC short step but have been getting the rest of the truck squared around.
Where are you in Goodyear? I am up the hill.
And I tell myself I know what I am doing after 30 years of playing with his stuff
Yeah, the frame guy I took it to was a grumpy old guy too, tried to walk me out the door scaring me with the price and everything, he asked for the engine, trans, exhaust and cab off, just a rolling frame and he...
I am going to suggest taking it to a frame shop and having them put it on a lift, hang the gauges and get the tram gauges out.
I bought this truck a couple years ago and looked over it carefully before I paid him. I knew it was wrecked at some point because the left 3/4 front sheetmetal was...
