Many of the issues he's run into thus far were caused by Alex and his attempt to rebuild it. Who knows how good the truck was prior to the wreck. We know that the gauge cluster was a hacked up POS but that's all we know about the pre-wreck truck. Not surprisingly, Alex started 'final assembly'... -

I'm with you. Something to be said for easily accessible parts and don't have to worry about the piece of paper with part numbers you swore that you put in your glovebox 3 years ago that has suddenly gone missing....probably on the work bench under a dozen of other things and an inch of dust... -

That willwood kit looked like a nice kit. Not that I'd spend the money on it as Willwood is super proud of their stuff but it did look to be pretty good quality. -

I was curious about that same thing with the back of the stock cluster. I just assumed he knew more than me and was doing something super genius that I'd not thought of before because overall his work seems to be on point :) -

So I wonder who's fault it was for not having the tabs on the axle fully welded? Did Alex replace that rear end or did it leave Gas Monkey like that? I don't remember. Also with that 3rd member :eek: Glad they caught that stuff! Seems like they're getting the truck up to 100% pretty well. -

Well, to get anything 'straight as glass' you're going to have a layer of body filler over the metal so that's to be expected IMO but what I saw in one of the latest videos it seemed thicker than what one would expect upon closer inspection. -

I noticed the thick layer of bondo when this latest shop was working on it prepping it for new paint. He was working on the firewall and as he was taking the paint off to get down to metal you got a good look at how thick that bondo was/is :eek: -

So glad it’s in capable hands now!! Looks like it’s finally getting done correctly. Alex seemed to be in way over his head with this build and it would have turned out horrible if he’d proceeded forward with it IMO -
What did you pay for a square

Replacing Rear Door Window Regulator and Rollers
I ended up not replacing the rollers as I didn't feel good about any of the methods and I didn't want to take a chance on ruining the regulators on those rear doors as they are hard time find. I ending up being liberal with penetrant and lubricant to loosen them up and moving freely. If you're...- Old77
