    The place to start would be a good compression test. You need to determine if the engine needs a rebuild before you add a bunch of stuff to the outside. Assess what you have and determine what you want it to be in the end, as well as what your budget is and do the math and go from there.

    I hate to say it, but it sounds like he needs a LS motor. I think those parameters are the reason the small block chevy GM developed into the LS. I am a SBC fan, but power, mileage, and "cheap" aren't really achievable.

    Well, it looks like you better put some kind of lights on there, just to cover the holes. Probably not factory equipped with roof lights. The wiring should be coming out of the holes. You can probably find some aftermarket lights and screw them on and hook up the wires and you are good to go...

    You are going to have to clean the carburetor out, and change the filters. Probably clean out the tank as well. If you are scared to try stuff you are not going to be able to fix the problem. Ricko is giving you the easy thing to try first.

    Wrong rings or bearings. Maybe some trash in the ring grooves. Something... Pull that piston back out and figure out why it it tight.

    Please show us the truck that you are talking about. A few pictures would help everybody understand what you are talking about and maybe answer your questions. I have a K30 SRW and it is rated at around 9-10 K towing capacity. I dont know if I would do it though.

    Just a thick coating of Rust-oleum paint. If you scratch it, you can easily touch it up with a spray can, and when you get tired of it it will come right off.

    You lost one of the "Jesus" pins. When you lose it you yell out "Jesus Christ", and a few other choice words... Most carb kits have a couple of them, or maybe a "C" clip. Good luck.

    It is an original big block truck, so I just had to go back with a big block. It is a 410 (.040 over 402) instead of a 454. The motor that I took out was a 383 small block, a cool motor, but nothing like a BIG BLOCK!! It also has a serpentine belt set up with A/C. The cab lights and tailgate...

    81'-86' Air Cleaners

    1985 K30. Regular leaded gas. I dont think that it has a charcoal cannister.
