    Mystery Connector

Most definitely it's not a marker light wire. Marker lights use two wires (black and brown) and don't use that style plug. The horn(s) use green wire and also that plug.

What new tools have you got lately?

Yep, it's an 1150. @legopnuematic I'm impressed that you knew the make and model just from that one picture I posted, lol.

What new tools have you got lately?

Yeah, it's a Powermatic but I don't recall the model # off hand. Ideally I'll replace the shade and the fixture too, as it is broken off at the swivel. Edit: The lamp fixture was added by someone in the past. It's not original to the drill press.

What new tools have you got lately?

So this isn't really any kind of new tool, I don't even have it yet, but it's FOR a tool. I figured this would be the best place to ask. Does anybody know where I might find one of these old lamp fixtures? I don't want some modern light for my vintage drill press. I've been looking for a while...

    Master Cylinder - K10 to K20 conversion

Oh ok, I got ya now. I was under the impression that you were sticking with a K10 master. But yeah, see how the sizes of the reservoirs are swapped? That means you just swap the lines. The larger one is for disc brakes.

    Master Cylinder - K10 to K20 conversion

Did you get a master for a different year truck than what you have?

    Master Cylinder - K10 to K20 conversion

From what I remember based on all current and previous trucks, just swap the lines. Sometimes GM put the front brake reservoir towards the front, but sometimes they put it toward the rear.

Looking to buy our first 6.2

Those should ride just fine under a Suburban. I should have stated, mine from an '83 are 8 leaves, plus the bottom overload leaf. I don't have a top overload spring. The Suburban rides pretty well. Also, I did realize that my shortbed 77's rear 56's have 9 leaves, plus the bottom overload leaf...

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

Yeah, I've got some of grandpa's other things too. I don't use them, I just hang onto them. Like the camshaft with a flat lobe from his '61 Chevy, plus half of a GM gasket set from when he installed the new cam in that '61 Chevy. The story goes that he was on the way to the beer store and he...

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

I've got my grandpa's old grease gun. I haven't used it in at least 20 years... because you know, it doesn't take cartridges and I'm lazy lol. After grandma passed, we cleaned out the house and we found one of grandpa's old grease cans that he used for the grease gun, but I can't remember what...

    2 post shop lift

Hey Mr Concrete, I've got an unrelated question for you. The shop side of my barn has a concrete floor that has some kind of rough-ish and slightly lumpy surface. Is there some type of surface grinder I could possibly rent somewhere to smooth it out a bit? It makes it a little annoying to push...

    Tire/wheel recommendations

I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again many times in the future. "Offset" is a byproduct of backspacing and a nearly useless term. Especially in this case, where most every 4x4 squarebody is going to need about a 4" backspacing, +/- 1/4" or so. So when shopping for wheels it's way...

Precision windshield gasket, self locking or lock strip?

My only experience with that style was a piece of flat glass that I had a glass shop make for a piece of farm machinery. It was a b!tch to install, but I chocked that up to the glass being cut a little oversized on one end. I dunno. I put a windshield in my '78 a few years back and it wasn't...

    Early 4.3 upgrade?

My '04 Blazer still has the same accessory drive that was used starting in '96. Iirc, my buddy's old '07 C1500 did as well. It's an incredibly easy system to adapt into a squarebody.

    Tire/wheel recommendations

How wide or "meaty" of a stance do you want? The wider the rim, the less diameter you will have clearance for when turning. I believe we have a lifted truck picture thread around here somewhere, to give you some ideas.

    Early 4.3 upgrade?

Right. Iirc, the newer generation 4.3 was derived from the LT series (gen 4?) of small block.

    Early 4.3 upgrade?

Just pointing it out in case it wasn't obvious... that's and old article and the 4.3 lived on for a good number of years after '98. I think until '12 or so? Relatively unchanged from what was offered in '98.
