    Sliding rear window gasket?

Thanks, I have not bought one yet looking at a few online. I contacted the gasket manufacturers and a glass shop that does a lot of classic car work. Nobody makes one to fit the original windows. Kinda crazy. Funny, I also thought the ones with the large aluminum frame were OEM. So, if those are...

    Sliding rear window gasket?

Just trying to figure this out. Are the OEM windows the ones with the large aluminum trim around them. I've seen a few used with black trim, actually looks like a larger window. Would these be after market??

Thanks that sucks. Ya, the reason I was looking at used is I want a clear one. All I could find new were tinted.

    Sliding rear window gasket?

Hi, I'm looking at buying a used sliding rear window for my 86 K20. I've found a few, but when searching for a new gasket all I find say not compatible with OEM sliding rear window. Any ideas or info on this appreciated. Will the gasket from my old solid window work? Also, just realized I posted...

86 K20 front wheel bearing question

Now that I look at it again you may be right. A corporate 10 bolt. The cover didn't look quite as round as the pictures I'd seen of 10 bolts. But, upon taking another look it doesn't have as much shape as a Dana. Thanks, I'll edit my post.

Should I yank my engine to do oil pan gasket?

Just a note. I did mine with engine in. Not bad at all. I used a felpro one piece rubber gasket. Do not use those pegs they give you to hang gasket on. Not enough room. I used a few pieces of sail twine tied it to oil pan. Just make them a little loose so you can clip them and pull them out once...

Am I crazy to expect more than 10 MPG

Thanks to all. I guess 10 mpg is all I can expect. I do have a spare edelbrock which I did the jets and rods for one spot leaner on the tune graph. I'll give that a try when the weather warms...

Am I crazy to expect more than 10 MPG

I have a 1986 K20 with a crate engine with fewer than 5k miles. 350/TH400, 4:10 gears, Edelbrock 1406 carburetor. Truck runs fine, Starts fine. Stops fine. Carb is not that old and I tried a brand new one. All I get is 10 MPG, no matter what. New plugs, new wires. Timing is about 10 degrees...

    inline six compatability

Thanks to everyone for the replies. As far as reason to change. Just nostalgia and ease of servicing. I had a K20 and a K10 years ago with the inline six. Just loved them. I'll check out the Novak Guide. Thanks

    inline six compatability

I have a 350 in my 86 chevy K20 and I want to swap to an inline six. I see a lot of 60's and 70's sixes for sale. Not so many 80's. How far back can I go and still have the inline six mate up with a TH400 transmission?

    TH400 dipstick

Thanks for the replies. When I bought the truck a lot of things were replaced, not all correct. The tranny dipstick had no stop on the top. I put a grommet in to seal the tube but have been concerned about proper level..Thanks

Proper length of dipstick for a 1986 TH400. Or, alternately depth of oil above bottom of pan or whatever the stick bottoms out on ?

    Fuel tank vacuum

Wow, that was quick. Thanks AuroraGirl. I love this site already. I have been steadily going through this truck to sort it out. There were a lot of things that were done wrong. But, that said, she's on the road running okay and the project continues. Thanks
