    The small, annoying purple(ish) dinosaur… Presenting Barney…

Cut down stock racks off a 60s 8’ bed truck, top tier of a scrapped convenience store 3 shelf display table. Gotta pull at least 5 engines soon, this will do… Lisa’s car, Danger Rangers, even the riding mower can pull it…

    The small, annoying purple(ish) dinosaur… Presenting Barney…

Have to snap a pic when I fet home, but Barney’s engine bay is filled with black walnut shells, sticks, and plant stems. F’n squirrels don’t even want me to fix this one… :(

Shelby’s 97 that tried to eat a deer… 2.3/5spd 2wd swb. Decent used hood/grille are in the barn. She says she did not put them there, well, neither did I. It’s actually in fairly decent shape for 284+k miles on it. Her daily is a 2007 that was spitting out the front sparkplug last week… :)

Temu specials, Lisa ordered them for working on her ‘06 Pontiac Vibe.

    short step assembly

They are all about the same. Cross sills, angles, rabbeted boards, squeak stopper pads, strips and carriage bolts. My 1948-52 Dodge bed goes together exactly like a 73-? Chevy bed floor. You should have a bolt on header panel, use stainless hardware. Use stainless fender bolts, bed strips, bed...

Lisa is 5’5”, Shelby is 5’2, I’m 6’2”. They fit, I don’t. Truck has a fully rebushed rear suspension, new Monroes. Was on Rockauto last night, can actually order 1750# rear packs for these toys… I have this 94, a wrecked 92 lwb parts roach, Shelby’s 97 2.3/5spd and Shelby’s 07 4cyl/auto. F/R...

    New trim

My stepson tried to “seal” the trim on a ‘77 F100 I used to own, 30 years ago... All it did was ruin the anodized clear over the polished aluminum base.

Still working on Ralph, waiting for more parts to arrive. Still working on Whiskey Bent, the 99 K3500 c&c standard cab dually. Need to cut the rear support welds and pull the flatbed, tbi pump swap the front tank for the carburetor conversion. If you ever feel the urge to run a Vortec 350… Don’t.

No idea what this wheel orinally fit, as Lisa’s parents and brother had Ford cars, Danger Rangers, campers, etc. It fits for now. The Lil Red Express wheels will be cleaned up for my 1949 Dodge. 30” or so front ground clearance on those height adjustable ramps. Have to pull the transmission...

    The small, annoying purple(ish) dinosaur… Presenting Barney…

Was my late (died in 2011) brother in law’s last “trucklette”. 1994 2.3L/5spd 2wd, standard cab short bed. Shipped with the “deer track” 14” alloys, I normally ran 1992 Sport alloys, Outlaw 2 clones. Being a 5x4.5” bolt pattern, opens up back to the 1930s for wheel choices. That crust bucket...

    Grounding question

Don’t need a battery to make current with a generator. So long as you always park nose downhill, and have a real transmission (manual), theoretically you can pop start the engine… Have owned a 6v positive ground flathead 6, 3 on the floor truck since 1979 or 1981, can’t remember if I was 7 or 9...

    Grounding question

Motorcycles. Gasoline tractors. Stock 6v vehicles. You can buy it at any TSC or similar farm store for 4 and 6 cylinder flathead engines. You can order it online by the foot for diy fabric braid covered plug wires. I happen to have 9 modern Japanese cruiser motorcycles, and even the 2 efi...

    NV3500 swap

Preference for an actual working truck? Hercules multifuel diesel, transmission and t-case out of a deuce & a half.

    NV3500 swap

I can’t emphasize strongly enough what an absolute disaster the NV4500 actually is… 1. Weak (fragile) synchros 2. Very expensive proprietery gear oil 3. Can’t tow in 5th 4. 2-3 and 3-2 shifts have a HUGE rpm drop 5. 1st is absolutely useless in the internal slave cylinder version, unless way...

    Well that sucks

Saw that in one of the Reddit groups yesterday. Impressive vapor display. Evap or line popped, update to modern replacements, R134 it, call it good. I have 4 cans of R12, but not the correct working hose/gauge set anymore. R12 works better, but not worth the headaches.

1977 K10 9j9 sport deluxe stepside with factory tach and roll bar.

Nice time capsule. Keep the 400/SM465, keep the rollbar, add a couple lights to the bar if you want it a bit more period correct. Rare or “odd” combos are more like a Spirit of ‘76, Gentleman Jim, Blazer Chalet or Desert Fox. Even a first year (1985) with a factory installed Qjet equipped...

    Factory Underside paint?

    Is this a bullet hole?!?

A 12g 2.75” hollowpoint slug with a max dram equivalent powder load count? Shot an old dryer in a gravel pit. Dryer got flying lessons and had a fist sized exit hole. Flipped a feral hog over with a Fiocchi 00 buck load from a 19” barreled break open single shot. A coyote hit with the same...

    Fuel line question

Harbor Freight carries a couple nice boxes of efi grade clamps, pretty decent price. You do have to buy both kits to get every size you need though. Have them on the 72 Super Beetle, modern fuel hose. Using the same for the C10 4.3 to 350 swap and carb converting my Vortec 350. While the OP...

Widest tire using stock 15x8 rallies

With the cute little 15s, still nothing hanging below the edge of the backing plates… ;)

Widest tire using stock 15x8 rallies

Reset to the front mounting hole. Still not visually centered, but the driveshaft has full movement. Still wearing P235/75r15 108XL rear tires. Rear flip, shock relocators and Gabriel Load Assist shocks. With standard shocks it sits 3” lower than in the pic, limiting it to a 28” tall tire.

    Ford 460 project

Huge fan of a 460/C6 or 460/NP435 combo, followed closely by FE (332-428) with the same transmissions. Building a 460 is 2-3x the cost of a 454, and a fraction of the cost of a B/RB Mopar. Offset by the so much more user friendly front mount distributor. Tell him to get a coil in cap...

    Boxing Frame

If you look closely, rather than boxing in, factory frame doubler lower section… Granted, this is where the factory boxed section goes to open rail on a gmt400 K3500 c&c… But (elephant sized but) no different than a lowrider on hydraulics running a “wrapped” frame. Unless you fully box, the...
