All done! Cooled off and ready to install. Wife has declared oven acceptable for human baking (baking food for humans, not baking a human….) after a bit of airing out. -

It’s actually pretty uneventful. The manifolds were super clean, blasted with crushed glass and painted so the only thing coming off of them was some fumes/smoke from the paint for the first 30 minutes. Later tonight I’ll bake a baked egg tortilla dish. -

Finally got the second exhaust manifold, so blasted them and painted today. First time I’ve used this particular High-temp paint and so far happy with how it applied. -

Replacement manifolds are out for delivery today so went ahead and pulled the old ones. Got a lot of cleaning and painting to do in the engine bay, plus will blast and paint the “new” manifolds before installing them. In the “while I’m at it” category I’ll be replacing several exhaust pipe... -

In preparation for replacing the broken exhaust manifolds I was able to break all 16 bolts free after a couple days. Many came out easy, others wanted a fight but with patience, heat and penetrating oil I got all of them out, only to run them back in until replacement manifolds are here. Along... -
Looking for bench seat options with a foldable back / armrest
K5s have separate bench seats and a handy console, but no arm rests for the seats. Plus you get a factory emblem on your console lid. ;) -

Stopped to fill up and said “Hey, why not try some of that there Tesla juice?” Weirdest darn hose….fits in OK but couldn’t see how to make the stuff come out. Then I couldn’t see how I would pay even if I did get some Tesla juice. Other folks must have the same problem as they were just sitting... -

lol. I may regret it when it comes time to replace! It fits well, doesn’t extend past the bottom of the oil pan and is tucked away so no real concerns with clearances. -

Did an oil change. Read here on GMSB about the larger oil filters and decided to try one. It holds 1.75 qts according to WIX so dumped 6 qts in. I’ll check it after a short drive and adjust as needed. While it was drained I ran my boroscope through the drain hole to check the main bearing caps... -

The NP203 transfer case is full-time 4WD, ie no provision for 2 WD unless modified. My 75 Blazer is like this. I am not sure if the NP203 was used in 85.- WFarm

Got the serpentine belt components installed and did a test run. All seems well. Installation wasn’t a real big deal. The biggest issue I had was entirely my doing: I pressed on the new power steering pump pulley backwards. Of course that made removal a challenge as there was no provision for... -

Pretty much have things ready to install the serpentine belt components when it gets here tomorrow. USPS gave the kit an all-expense paid tour of the US East coast for some reason.
