    Myth or fact

SBC's are becoming quite rare. I would consider boring the block 0.020 that way it can be bored 2 more times at 0.040 and 0.060 instead of just once more. My opinion based on experience...Unless there was some core shift issues which does definitely happen, a 400 won't run any hotter at 0.060...

NEW PORT ENGINEERING. Wiper motors (new) anyone bought this yet? Pic inside

Yeah, and they keep going up in price. I looked at it for my Nova about 7-8 years ago and it was $280. A month later it was $350, then $450, and now $800. I still haven't ordered it yet. On the Nova it mounts behind the firewall for a clean look.

    For the Handicapped

A full roll cage that has handles so you can "pull-up" your self in. Temporarily try a water-ski tow rope attached and thrown over the roof from the pass side to pull yourself in. https://www.gmsquarebody.com/threads/amp-power-steps-on-a-k5-solved.33526/page-2#post-895196 Lastly, just for...

Was someone here selling these 6x9 brackets? Pic inside

I bought them off Amazon. I purchased 2 sets as I have 2 trucks and it was only $30 for all. They look, fit, feel the same as the $200 ones.

    Lowering 1984 c10 rear by 2 inches

Question, trying not to derail too much and this is most likely not relevant with the OP's '84... But can you use lowering shackles with a stepside? On a steel floor fleetside you have to trim the brace but I believe on stepsides the wood floor would interfere. I ask as I believe the cross...

    GMC Grill

I know its not the same as stock but I believe Alumicraft can make one out of Billet for around $2k. I plan to order one for my Nova from them.

    Hydroboost conversion

You may be correct that it's just the early ones. We had to drill the correct hole on my son's '77. I've done 2-3 conversions and I had to drill every one but none of those were models that ever came with hydroboost as an option/ configuration.

    Hydroboost conversion

Just a reminder...you may have to drill out the brake pedal arm to get the correct stroke for hydroboost.

NEW Tire Purchases - Sizes, Deals and Reviews !!!

I bought a set of tires last month from Costco. They had to order but overall it was a good experience and they got rid of a bunch of fees, M&B included now in price of tire. Other shops charge separate for mount, balance, air, warranty, etc.

Brake hose issues with lowered front end C30

While I haven't had to do it on a C30, I've had that on several other vehicles. Is there a bracket on the upper control arm you can adjust? I'd also look at 4wd shops that deal with vehicles that have a lot of travel and need to protect the line across the the range. I feel like I used a spring...

    Steering Column Lock Guard Device

It should. I bought one and it fits both our '90 and the '77. However, make sure you get what is shown in the pictures with the tubular lock and that it has a ramp on the striker. That allows you to turn the lock and just snap it closed opposed to having to use a key to both lock and unlock...

LMC pre bent fuel and brake lines

I've used lines from LMC, inline tube, etc. for a few different cars and have never had luck making them fit as original. If you buy a $100 line straightener it helps. I've spent a few hundred on line tools and can make some lines myself ok. I'm fortunate now that there is a place near me in...

    Rear Step Bumper Availability

Yep, they don't look right to me either. I've always liked the dealer bumpers the best.

    Dapper Lighting FourSix BiLED Headlights

Thanks for posting! Do you have plans to offer lights for the 89-91 Suburban/ Blazer? They are smaller than the 4x6. Thanks

    Broken main bolt

It's amazing how forgiving the SBC really is. In most motors, losing a main bolt and essentially 20% of the total clamping force holding the crank would be catastrophic. I'm amazed the bearing didn't spin.

    Installing windshield in a Squarebody

Are you using used windshields? Could that be issue? I can't find/buy a windshield cheap enough to do myself. I can get a glass company to install for $30-50 more than what I can find them for.

    Broken main bolt

I'm glad it worked out. I've had a few motors change clearances after stud installs. Typically you need to line hone with studs as they apply pressure differently than bolts and are only installed hand tight if I recall.

    Vent window trick?

My 2 cents. While this is a neat trick that will work for many, and may be a temp repair to get you through until you can tear it apart....I think this is best reserved for the show vehicle that gets limited use. In the link, it was a '63 Continental and I suspect that it's not being driven...

    Headlamp Adjusters

Just to clarify.. you guys are saying the green ones on Amazon, manufactured by Au-ve-co are good? I've gone through a dozen dorman and other brands this year on my son's s10. They strip/ break when you install or try and adjust. I buy auveco bolts/clips in bulk so hoping the quality is good...

81 up dash pad anyone bought one recently

I bought a Coverlay for my C30 and son's S10. Fast shipping and good choice of colors. Just got them this week so haven't had a chance to install yet. I paid $280 shipped for both with a coupon I got from a carshow. Quality looks good, hope the fit is as well.
