Calling on digital torque (+angle) experts

I would do what some others have said, torque it to 100, use a regular breaker bar or similar to twist another 70 degrees. If you are not comfortable eye-balling 70 degrees, in a pinch to save some $$$ go to google and type in "360 degrees" in images....take one of them pictures, scale it down...

Should I make a daily from my "parts truck" 76 GMC....??

I don't think so..?? Looks like they used it to store the wood. I wish they would've left the wood in it for me!!

Should I make a daily from my "parts truck" 76 GMC....??

I actually bought a cluster for my blue truck a while back, but when I got the green truck I used that one because it has a tach in it  Here is the cluster I bought early on... Here is the one from the green truck I am putting in my blue one...with the woodgrain bezel too.

Should I make a daily from my "parts truck" 76 GMC....??

I like noise too :D I think it would be fun. My brother has a used set of headers, so if I do this I should put his on with no hood, run it around a few weeks and see what I think.....and if I like it, get new ones and cut some holes.

Should I make a daily from my "parts truck" 76 GMC....??

I was wonder who "Yes" was :anitoof: Yeah a bit of a drive for a rusted out truck! The drivers side fender well opening on the box is much worse than the passengers side box fenderwell. It could be fixed up, but where does a guy stop! I would probably have to invest around $600 (maybe less???)...

What have you done to your square lately??

THEN....it gets even better!!! I came across these, made a phone call, sending him the money....and now they are mine after I go pick them up. Notice the stickers :D They are like new! The one in the upper left has a couple minor blemishes, but I don't care. They are in way better shape than...

You and me both my friend! That dually of mine is NO trailer queen by far! Outside she looks decent body wise...underneath though, uffda! I'm afraid to fire up this engine in it...probably shake all the rust out of it! :D

Should I make a daily from my "parts truck" 76 GMC....??

I totally get what you are saying about fixing it up, however with just my luck, working on one item turns into another item and right down the list, which is typically how a project goes anyhow! The hood on my blue truck is kinked on the passengers side, so I took it off and a friend has a...

Should I make a daily from my "parts truck" 76 GMC....??

Here is kind of a picture of how it sits now...not super great I know, covered in snow now next to the garage (with a hood on it!). As you can see I have robbed a lot, not including most of the interior has been removed too, but it is still workable! However, before I touch another square, the...

Should I make a daily from my "parts truck" 76 GMC....??

Actually those headers shown are from Speedway I believe, around $170. There are also that same style header with a built in glasspack to mellow it down a bit too. What would that be? The whole truck :D I would probably let the whole thing go for $600 with the parts thrown in from my dually...

Should I make a daily from my "parts truck" 76 GMC....??

So I have been debating making a daily driver/grocery getter (not in winter months however!!) out of my 76 GMC parts truck. I have been taking parts off of this green one to use on my 76 GMC dually build, but I am also removing those same parts from my dually truck because this green 76's parts...

What have you done to your square lately??

Now she is helping install the rocker arm assemblies. She first wiped them clean, then used assembly lube on where the pushrod meets the rocker arm. She also put the assembly lube on the top of the valve stems also for the rocker arm. Here she is looking up the torque specs and information...

What have you done to your square lately??

Here she is helping me install the pushrods. She is using the assembly lube on the ends of the pushrods where they meet the lifters, then putting them in.

What have you done to your square lately??

This just melted my heart and turned me into mush....she has been helping on the truck, and now she is helping with the engine. Pictures on page 802 of installing the cylinder heads with her. She did a lot of work. I came home from work the other night and saw this on the counter. I will be...

What have you done to your square lately??

Oh that sucks!!!!!! I just replaced the one in my car, I think it needs a rad and heater core flush....doesn't blow hot air, warm at best. Lately it's been around -25 to -30 so it really sucks! Well, it is a ford taurus and that's half the problem!!! My Impalas we used to have would cook ya...

What have you done to your square lately??

Finally got the heads, and the intake put on tonight with the help of our oldest daughter. Good times, super warm garage, and great non-stop oldies (50's/60's) playing on the stereo system. Here she is doing the torque sequence on the heads, as we got closer to 80 ft. lbs. I had to lend a...

    Suburban Project- Need Help!

Holy crap, now that would totally suck! The mains are pretty dang big! As for oiling issues in them, that I have not heard of. With high volume pumps, using a 3 speed trans, and on the highway could starve the top end because the pan could be nearing empty. With the HV pumps I have used, I...

    Suburban Project- Need Help!

Hahahaha!! I hear ya! Small block Chevy, what's that? One of them there new fangled things? :D Olds stuff is a bit more $$$ to build, but I feel it is well worth it. First, they have a lower/deeper grumble than a BBC. Second, the spark plugs are above the exhaust manifolds/headers. Third...
