Also news to me. Thanks for the info @Ricko1966 . I'm glad I haven't tried to invest in a generic OBD1 scanner. So far just using a paper clip.- JamesSam

After getting the passenger door regulator addressed, I fired her up to see how she would run. I let it warm up, moved it to a good spot for potentially replacing the TPS. As it has been doing lately the turnover took a good 4 seconds before it ignited, then it settled in and service engine... -

Popped the door card off the passenger side and lubed up the window regulators moving parts to try and get a little bit more life out of the power motor. Also sprayed dry lube in the felts. I completely decimated the retainer clips off one of the strap beauty covers. Gotta get another set ASAP... -

Dang! Just ordered it from Summit via 2nd day air. I was impressed that Summit was about $30 cheaper than what I would have paid at the parts store, even with air mail. -

Also, I have asked O'Reilly's to order an AC Delco TPS. They had to put in a special request and will let me know if they can fulfill the order. So waiting to hear back from them. I have read and seen in videos that the cheap ones often don't run correct voltage. The one in my truck currently... -

@gmbellew Glen, thanks for the feedback. I have researched the code 21. I also looked through the Fuel and Emissions Manual at the diagrams. I think I want to try bending the tab as you suggest. No scanning ability other than the paper clup trick. I would need to borrow auto-meter, or go buy... -

I went ahead with my initial plan to adjust idle again. When the IACV was unplugged I adjusted the torx in the TBI up a quarter turn. Plugged in IACV then disconnected the battery for 5 minutes. Reconnected the battery and fired her up. It starts the same. I drove it. It is driving great, but... -

So back with the truck. OBD1 is reading code 21. I was initially planning to redo the torx up 1/4 turn but not sure since code 21 is TPS malfunction. Typically this means idling high from what my research has shown. The truck is running great after the most recent adjustment but service engine... -

After the OBD1 TBI torx adjust to get the idle down the truck will take a long crank on ignition before turning over but then will run great. After first ignition and it has been driving it cranks up normal. It idles high for about 3 or 4 seconds then drops down to a good sounding idle, and... -

Not the platinum stuff. 80's and 90's TBI don't need that. Stock style is good unless you have modified from stock. -

Long blathering post on window install is now edited. Sorry all. Pulling the rope seemed to get the outer lip over the spline but we both had to really push it as delicately as possible but also forcefully to get the seal rested on the spline. -
