Cab repair - Cab corners - rockers - floor pans etc

Very nice! That’s a very nice looking floor setup. +1 on the removable bump, had to actually remove the one on my 78 project the other day and got a glimpse of just how useful it was.

    Randomly working or not working.

    Ignition Switch

Check your adjustment of the switching block ( I don't know what its called) down on the steering column. The issue originally was probably this and the new switch may have pushed the starting rod further. The block has some adjustment on it.

Cab repair - Cab corners - rockers - floor pans etc

What year cab are you working on? If doing the entire floor- yes brace that puppy. The only full floor out there comes with a low hump which you would need to install the high hump. AMD sells both and when installed the hump doesn't look to bad.

    Carpet size

The first thing I see on the tag is it list from 73-87 which I would assume is a huge red flag other than maybe it was a trim to fit ordeal but it's finished off on the side so that doesn't seem to be the case.

    picture needed bucket seat bracket

Someone on one of the FB pages sent me a pic when they removed their seats and sent me a pic of how the carpet was done for my 77 project. The real magic on the bucket seats seems to be the front bracket that nobody makes and is real hard to find.

    Carpet size

Low hump carpet in a high hump truck? If you took it out of a high hump and going back to a high hump there shouldn't be an issue. What year is the truck you are putting it in? There is a hump difference in the years.

Odd old C10 shorty, 56” springs and 12 bolt

Check this out. I bought it sight unseen with the bed and just needed the bed. Kinda poking at it I noticed it has 56” springs. Thought it was kinda cool as it’s not something you see a lot on short beds. I have had several late 70’s shorties recently and none were setup like this. I think...

    Full Rewire 1979 c-30

You will probably need the add on AC harness. The AA should work with either AA or Painless. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/aww-510712/make/chevrolet/model/c20-suburban/year/1986 To go in the existing the wire going over there should be as below AAW has provided the heater or A/C feed...

I need a Crew Cab wiring harness

Either of the harnesses listed will cover a crew cab. the only difference is the rear harness but there is usually a little bit of extra that will get you close enough to the back of the truck to make a connection harness. AA makes a tail light harness to continue from here. The rear wires...

Is this vapor locking, bad pump, or something else?

It would go in the rear of the frame.

Is this vapor locking, bad pump, or something else?

So just an update on this as I finally got it back to a running state today. I let it idle for a while and drove it around the country block. The fuel filter is staying full now. My guess is the dead headed return was the overall issue. I wont know for sure until I get the bed back on it...

Looking for advice swapping 5.3 and 6L80e into 79k20

I was thinking 2013ish for AFM/DOD but I’ll chew crow on that.

    Are these blocks factory?

I don’t think they are factory but it looks like a couple of mfg’s make something similar. Looking at doing a 2.5/2” lift to this K30 as the front springs are sprung up. Trying to do all spring on the lift.

Looking for advice swapping 5.3 and 6L80e into 79k20

Coming out of a 2010 I don’t think this will be an issue. OP, the adapter above for your transfer case and a Tejas steelworks crossmember is the way. The front driveshaft may work but you will probably have to cut or find a right length rear. My last swap I just put the measurement from joint...

Is this vapor locking, bad pump, or something else?

Its in the bumper bolt area. It could probably be done but not sure what it would look like currently. I need to take a trailer out and grab a longbed/frame I hauled out to the farm a while back that has an unmodified frame. I think its missing roughly 4" of the frame but not 100% sure yet.

    Sbc serpintine belt kit

I have done the full GM performance unit and its worth the upgrade to a point. It was on a basically all new build, but it was expensive! If you look on marketplace there are a ton of TBI takeout engines that usually include the front system for cheap. It's more of a PITA to get it home but...

    K5 frame crack

This! my 86 has some broken rivets and loose rivets on the engine and front crossmember that I need to fix but just keep slacking on it. It pops and creeks when turning/flexing. It also is helping the front clip come loose now and then.

Is this vapor locking, bad pump, or something else?

The frame has already been chopped in the rear. Just enough to be missing the back bed mount/pad and enough missing a factory bumper won’t bolt up. I thought about seeing if the rear frame section off a C20 would work as welded back on but depending on how much is missing it could probably...

Is this vapor locking, bad pump, or something else?

little bit of cleanup work and just bypassed the chaos for now. Looking to get it in for a frame chop but cleaned up enough to drive to town to the shop and take it for a spin to see if it’s fixed or at a minimum different.

Is this vapor locking, bad pump, or something else?

LOL it is hooked right up to that line with the bolt in it. It was under some tape with some real winning connections for the valve power and tank level wires. Yeah, it has a 3 port where it only handles the fuel. My 77 K10 project had the same setup, and I am trying to find where I put the...

Is this vapor locking, bad pump, or something else?

So digging into this without even working on the pump yet. Selector valve works, the issue I think I see is they have put a bolt and clamp on the return from the fuel pump to the tanks and just has a line from tank to tank. I guess I need to find a photo of how the return line should be all...

Is this vapor locking, bad pump, or something else?

So bed is off and it’s a bit of wtf. There is a pull from each tank, then what I think should be the return is ran from tank to tank. The vent is done the same way. Man I love these old trucks and the WTF stuff that is done to them. Pretty sure the culprit is in this photo. The vent...

Is this vapor locking, bad pump, or something else?

I feel you a little there except for it has the factory lines front to back with the third line. Nobody in their right mind even out of boredom would run a third line. My 78, 77, 79 small block trucks are setup as you have shown though. a couple of sites show that the 3-outlet pump is the...
