Need help finding short for electrical ground

This is very important! Your home has two 110V lines and the neutral (ground). Both 110 share the ground. To get 220V the two 110 lines are mated together. If you loose the ground, every 110 receptacle becomes 220. Also newer pole transformers have an indicator light. Green is good, if it is...

Two questions, one about color and one about options

My '82 with the 305 was corporate blue. Ordered early and took delivery in November as an '82 model. It was ordered with a 700R4, but since that was the first year for the new automatic oil burner, all the 700R4's got used in them. Dealer got a note stating it would have a TH350. I still took...

    6.2 Diesel Block Heater Time

You can check the block heater too. If you check it with an ohm meter there will be almost no resistance. This is good. As you hold the meter on the block heater a little while, you should see a little more resistance. This is also good. If the meter shows an open circuit, the block heater has...

Need help finding short for electrical ground

You are on the right track looking for a bad ground. Since you checked many spots, there is another that you may have missed. The lamp housing is one metal, and the bulb socket is different. Corrosion can form from the bulb socket to housing. This picture of a different lamp shows how the...

    4spd to Turbo 400

Since the T400 and the SM465 trans both have a final drive of 1:1, you will only gain 2 to 300 RPM highway speed with converter slippage. RPM not much higher.

    Trailer tires

Maybe I'm wrong, but I run name brand "P" tires on my trailer. Here is my 2002 short bed with the 8' bed. The '02 had 16" wheels. It got totaled by a guy on his phone running a red light. Replaced it with a 2006 SB. Now 17" wheels. All six wheels and tires match. one spare fits all.

Or whiskey, they must have some Bourbon from nearby Kentucky! Cutting hole in floor to replace fuel sender

When I did this, I used an air hammer with a panel cutting chisel. Finished up with a small rotary cutter. Then cut a larger panel from a salvage bed to cover the opening.

    Fender antenna debacle

Key Reasons for Antenna Balls: Static Dissipation: Under certain humidity conditions, the antenna builds up static electricity, similar to helicopter rotors. The ball helps discharge this static into the airflow, resulting in cleaner radio reception. Safety and Protection: For long whip...

    Cucv grille guard bumper

As far as I know, the Gov'ment did not buy GM, CUCV's in the 1970's. The '81 and up CUCV front bumper is like the '80's bumper, but not the exact same.

    Cucv grille guard bumper

Hickey Enterprises was one of the manufacturers that made the grille guard for the 1970's bumper. No one I know of is making them now. Word search with "Hickey" may find you a used one.

    Fender antenna debacle

The radio you are using needs to have a trigger wire for the antenna to have it extend when turned on. If the radio does not have that, then key on must be used.
