Finally got a running 65 C10
Took all the crap I bought, sliced it up and made cradles for the bottom and made the upper bracket clamp thing fit. Got it bolted in. Thing should cool well with the 4 row. Got the hoses on, top a little long but I guess I can trim it. I bought a generic overflow tank kit from LMC but idk if...- 1low4x4

It did not fit in the cradles from LMC that were designated V8 style or whatever. They’ll have to be widened- 1low4x4

I don’t care about headers really, but now im invested. Neither the bottom or the top pieces I got from LMC work for the radiator. So I drilled the top one out and sliced the clamp parts, and tack weld them back with rubber underneath. I only have one bottom cradle I guess they were sold not...- 1low4x4

Z bar is giving me hell. It actually didn’t go in as easy as I thought it did. Had to bend the lower tab and grind some off the top one. Had to cut some threads off the rod that connect to the clutch fork and z bar because it was backing into the header tube. Think I cut too much because my...- 1low4x4

never bothered me before either until I put a cam in a v8 on a ****** three on the tree with the shortest first and second gears in the world. I’d honestly like to go to an electric fan and will soon I’m sure. I hate the clutch fan sound when you rev the engine working the clutch when you take off I have longtube 1 5/8 headers and flanges coming tomorrow as well as stage 8 locking bolts. Finally got a running 65 C10
So I figured out that it’s just super cold natured without a choke. You have to hold it at an elevated rpm for like 2 minutes, then slowly let off the throttle, and it will run SUPER slow, potato potato potato, then eventually as it warms up it will gain rpm like normal.- 1low4x4

No I haven’t. I can’t get it running normal enough to drive it that far. I mean it runs, sits and idles, but the idle changes….i figured vacuum leak but I can’t find one. I tried spraying carb cleaner at it but nothing really changed. I redid the carb gaskets, it has the Mr gasket 1932 adapter...- 1low4x4

Drove it down the road and back, man, that three on the tree really sucks to drive. Pain to work the clutch and gas and all that. And I think I may have hurt my driving RPMs by installing that thumper cam. At 62 miles an hour it was screaming, if I pushed it to 65 it felt like it would explode...- 1low4x4

Today I tried to get a transmission shop to do a complete rebuild on the transmission because it has a lot of seal leaks. Out of the seven Transmission shops I called only one would do standard transmissions, but he was out for a while so I decided to fix it myself. I put it all back together...- 1low4x4

Never mind went ahead and pulled the trans. Looks like I put it together wrong. Supposed to put the tail shaft in first and that locks, then the input. Might take it apart tomorrow- 1low4x4

Got the gas pedal linkage in with a new return spring. Got the clutch linkage hooked up with a new nut on the end of the rod. Yeah I set it to base 12 yesterday. Will fool with it more once I change the oil. Should I keep the same zinc oil I used for break in? Or just go to Mobil 1 or something- 1low4x4
