11 inch drums fix or Disk brake conversion?
Most drum brakes are self energizing too so they multiply the brake force. Heavy duty trucks still use drum brakes. In Europe a transition has started and the many new trucks and trailers are made with disk brakes all around. -

I drove my K5 for years with clunking driveshafts all around.... Doing 1000 miles a year I would drive it till it's really bad or breaks. -

Brake Line Bending and Routing
I always order my brake line from classic tube in stainless steel and have the prop valve in the stock location. I would follow the stock routing to keep the lines out of the way of everything that could rub or high heat. This guy installs a ready kit but there are good shots from the routing... -

11 inch drums fix or Disk brake conversion?
Between the pinion and the ring gear is play. If it's a lot the driveshaft can rotate when you put it in gear and then is stopped by the ring gear. This makes a clunking noise for example. There are also other possible sources for rear end noise. Search Youtube for rear end noise, lot's of good... -
E-brake sticking after rebuild
Brake fluid can get darker when it overheats. It's a good solvent and had some time to sit in the components to get dirty. Now everything works as it should? -

You can reuse the old hardware if it's good. Old hardware is surely better quality than new China hardware. Clunking when put in gear is normally related to the differential not the axle bearings. Worn axle bearings start to whine and get hot. When you are in there you can remove the bearings... -

I replace brake parts always on both sides. Don't want to work on the brakes again cause the other side failed 2 months later. Clean and inspect all parts and replace everything that needs replacement. Get new brake shoes too. -

SBC 350 Possible issues with Carb?
My Carter stock replacement pump on my K5 puts out 9psi. I run fuel pressure regulators in the 100$ price range. Quality regulators can be rebuild.- ali_c20
