Mounting fender emblems should not cause this much anxiety!

What company did you use? Not that it matters, probably all the same kit sold by different brands. And they all probably use the same 3M tape. Mine was Route LA, since LMC was out.

Mounting fender emblems should not cause this much anxiety!

That, or there is a good trim adhesive in a tube that 3M makes. I put my emblems on with that. Also used some 3M adhesion promoter (auto body shops will sell them in little packs). Seemed to do the trick for me. The double sided tape is tough stuff and works great- it came already applied to...

What have you done to your square lately??

I’ll amend that. I might use it on my bed floor rather than trash it.

What have you done to your square lately??

I’m done with it, I might go back to using the Patina Preserver Shine Juice. In all the videos, it comes out looking like glass and is “self leveling “. I didn’t have that experience. It just leaves streaks and looks like it smears in a way. Not only that, it’s permanent so it’s hard to get back...

What have you done to your square lately??

So far I’d say it’s going reasonably well. Most of it is two things- learning what paint/clear I actually have and how it responds, and then learning the stupid cryptic non-standardized products out there for cutting/polishing. For example “Heavy Cut Cleaner” by Meguiars is actually more gentle...

    Leaking rag joint

I took a chance on a standard rebuilt one from O’Reilleys. It’s been fine. But I’ve heard some people have problems with them. The only issue with mine is that the steering feels a tad stiff, but as it’s been breaking in that feeling has lessened.

What have you done to your square lately??

Spent some time on various Poppy’s Patina products (sold by Vice Grip Garage) and I’m just not happy with any of it. So @legopnuematic and I had a little discussion on another thread and I’m gonna see if I can take this from a 50/50 truck to a 30/30 truck (maybe 20/20 truck but I doubt it)...

After your wet sand, what was your process to choose what cleaner/compound @legopnuematic ?

    Sanding questions

Thanks! Can’t go back once it’s removed so I’m guessing I’ll start with 1000, dry it off to have a good look, and go from there.

    Sanding questions

Hey guys and gals, from afar my paint looks passable but in reality there’s tons of old scuff marks, sanding scratches from apparent previous attempts (including some of my own during working with some patina preserver to make it more presentable) and it just looks like a$$. I don’t expect a...

Photo uploaded only allows a small amount and didn’t want to fill up the thread with non-square stuff, but here you go!

What have you done to your square lately??

Not much going on- just driving it these days. The local Heavy Metal Custom Shop reached out to me and invited me to their after work “Hooptie Cruise “. I guess I was applicable to that title, lol. We drove up to Lynden to Grants Burgers and all sat around with burgers and malts to talk for a...

    Best radiator fan kit -Alloyworks?

Clutch fans are quieter, don’t rob as much HP, but when you get one, watch your temperature gauge! I got a bad one from NAPA, and it was non functioning and almost immediately overheated my truck the first time I drove it in traffic. Save your receipt.

What have you done to your square lately??

To be fair, It’s the only thing on the shelves in town (besides Rotella, and there’s varying opinions on that). NAPA doesn’t carry anything besides modern vehicle stuff. O’Reillys used to carry Mobil1 15-50 with ZDDP, but it’s gotten hard to find. AutoZone used to carry regular VR1 but now this...

Flip flops and small blocks. Oil change day in the garage, and greased the front end.

What have you done to your square lately??

Went over to my buddy’s house today to help him with his ‘72 GMC. Noticed the AFR was at idle was rich today. I dialed back the idle enrichment to marginal improvements. Sometimes it was going into the 10s and even saw a 9. But it wasn’t acting any different and I definitely didn’t smell...

    Best radiator fan kit -Alloyworks?

As much as a I love the quality of Cold Case (it is absolutely beautiful) the salesmen that answer the phone know nothing of our struggles. They probably made these radiators for both vans and our trucks, but when I asked them what truck used a 1.75 lower, “um some big blocks did”. The search...

I’ll be dipped, there it is. After all the digging, the time spent on Rock Auto, parsing through websites, there it is. I’m going to save that on my truck file and I’ll replace that cobbled together hose I have on mine. Appreciate it!

Yeah, they do have a helluva dish to them, haha. Just got back from a ‘round town cruise. Stopped at the lake for a spell, great way to celebrate my 52nd birthday.

Well, we could ALL use a bigger boat. Edit- picked up some VR-1 for an oil change. Must admit I’ve been needing out on the Oil Geek YouTube channel lately.

Well, there you go. The needle in the haystack. Cold Case kept telling me it was a big block, but they were wrong.

Gave her a bath, vacuumed the interior, and even put some Megiuars Tire Shine on. Then did some errands around town.

I replaced my stock radiator with a cold case as well. Beautiful unit. I think they make sizes for both stock configurations (19.5 and 21.5” tall). I made the mistake of buying one with a 1.75” lower outlet. Don’t do that unless you want to go your own way in getting a lower hose. All the stock...
