Mounting fender emblems should not cause this much anxiety!
What company did you use? Not that it matters, probably all the same kit sold by different brands. And they all probably use the same 3M tape. Mine was Route LA, since LMC was out.- ChuckN

Mounting fender emblems should not cause this much anxiety!
That, or there is a good trim adhesive in a tube that 3M makes. I put my emblems on with that. Also used some 3M adhesion promoter (auto body shops will sell them in little packs). Seemed to do the trick for me. The double sided tape is tough stuff and works great- it came already applied to...- ChuckN

I’m done with it, I might go back to using the Patina Preserver Shine Juice. In all the videos, it comes out looking like glass and is “self leveling “. I didn’t have that experience. It just leaves streaks and looks like it smears in a way. Not only that, it’s permanent so it’s hard to get back... -

So far I’d say it’s going reasonably well. Most of it is two things- learning what paint/clear I actually have and how it responds, and then learning the stupid cryptic non-standardized products out there for cutting/polishing. For example “Heavy Cut Cleaner” by Meguiars is actually more gentle... -
Leaking rag joint
I took a chance on a standard rebuilt one from O’Reilleys. It’s been fine. But I’ve heard some people have problems with them. The only issue with mine is that the steering feels a tad stiff, but as it’s been breaking in that feeling has lessened.- ChuckN

Spent some time on various Poppy’s Patina products (sold by Vice Grip Garage) and I’m just not happy with any of it. So @legopnuematic and I had a little discussion on another thread and I’m gonna see if I can take this from a 50/50 truck to a 30/30 truck (maybe 20/20 truck but I doubt it)... -

Clutch fans are quieter, don’t rob as much HP, but when you get one, watch your temperature gauge! I got a bad one from NAPA, and it was non functioning and almost immediately overheated my truck the first time I drove it in traffic. Save your receipt.- ChuckN

To be fair, It’s the only thing on the shelves in town (besides Rotella, and there’s varying opinions on that). NAPA doesn’t carry anything besides modern vehicle stuff. O’Reillys used to carry Mobil1 15-50 with ZDDP, but it’s gotten hard to find. AutoZone used to carry regular VR1 but now this... -

Went over to my buddy’s house today to help him with his ‘72 GMC. Noticed the AFR was at idle was rich today. I dialed back the idle enrichment to marginal improvements. Sometimes it was going into the 10s and even saw a 9. But it wasn’t acting any different and I definitely didn’t smell... -

As much as a I love the quality of Cold Case (it is absolutely beautiful) the salesmen that answer the phone know nothing of our struggles. I replaced my stock radiator with a cold case as well. Beautiful unit. I think they make sizes for both stock configurations (19.5 and 21.5” tall). I made the mistake of buying one with a 1.75” lower outlet. Don’t do that unless you want to go your own way in getting a lower hose. All the stock...- ChuckN
