Manual Doors and Rear Roll Pan

I have a set of super clean manual doors. They were flawless until one of the front fenders nicked it when they were being pulled off. So now they have a chip in the paint on one door. The chip in the passenger door I mentioned: I also have a rear roll pan for sale. Both of these...

    Help

Yup @CSFJ is correct. The raised steering arm I have won't work for you if you have a Dana 60 front axle. It looks like you have to use some sort of block, as no one makes raised steering arms for Dana 60s. Check out Off Road Design's Website, they explain it all pretty well.

    Help

That's a good point. I haven't heard that there are different ones for different GM front axles. I think the knuckle studs are the same on the top regardless. It is completely worth doing your own research first though. If you decide you actually want it send me a Private Message (PM) and we can...

    Help

I've only ever seen the stock height and the 4+ inches of lift height steering arms. If you go to a distributors website that sells lift kits for these vehicles, they often say you want a lifted steering arm for lifts of greater than 3 inches. Many kits that are that tall come with them...

    Help

If you need a raised steering arm I have one new in box. I bought a lift kit that came with one and I didn't need it. PM if you want it. To tag people it should just be '@_username' where _ is a space. Enter a few characters of the name and it should pop up a list of all matches.

    Double DIN head unit questions

Send him a message and ask him to update the links. His truck is on a couple different sites so he seems to keep stuff documented well.

    Double DIN head unit questions

Another option is a single or 1.5 DIN that has a fold out screen. Check out Sublime's build thread. He has one with a backup camera and other modern features. It keeps you from having to do more body work since your dash is already set up for a single DIN.

    Adding AC...Followup

I haven't done it, but have read some of the threads talking about it. The firewall is different between an A/C cab and a non-A/C cab. Around the heater box area is where it is different. If you are unable to cut out the donor firewall section, a good strategy is to take some cardboard and cut...

    2wd conversion to 4wd

Unfortunately no. The front suspension components would need to be removed and some cross-members need to change among other things. It is much easier to do a frame swap. There is a guy on here currently in the process of converting a 2wd to a 4x4 by modifying the original frame. It's really in...

    Replacing Fuel Tank Straps

Any good methods to remove the tank strap rivets? My strap broke off when I pulled the tank mount off and I need to remove the remnants of the old strap before I can clean up the mount and paint it. Also should the lower part of the tank mount be welded to the upper part like this?

    Front shackle bushing wrong size?

I bought some new front shackles off rock auto and I'm wondering if the bushings that were included have a outer lip that is too deep. When I put the shackles on the frame it was difficult to get the nut on as there was almost no thread available past the bushing. When putting the spring on...

    Help jumping electric windows?

It might be easier to take a 12 volt battery and run leads from it directly to the window motor if the panel is off. When I had my cab off I took the switch apart and ran 12 volts directly to the wires that used to run to the switch.

Help rolling up power windows with cab removed

Are there any methods out there for rolling up the power windows on a cab that is completely off the frame? I did a stupid and left the windows down once I started my frame work. Cab won't be going back on the frame for a decent amount of time and having the windows up would be nice.

Best replacement body and engine mounts

Since I'm doing a frame up resto I will be replacing my engine and body mounts. In fact the old body mounts are already in the trash because they were so bad. Any advice on whether to go with rubber mounts or polyurethane? Any brands to avoid? I haven't had to to do this before so any input is...
