    Need real-world exhaust advise

Nothing wrong with 3" on a SBC or a BBC... It's only a factor if you're worried about it being loud.

    Need real-world exhaust advise

3” duals may be slightly oversized for a stock BBC but still appropriate

    Need real-world exhaust advise

I’m with @Ricko1966 on this one… 3” duals is just unneeded noise on a mostly stock SBC. I’ll add that larger pipes are more likely to drone, google said so and everything on the interweb must be true! If you’re willing to re-think your pipe size I can confirm 2.25” duals with “super turbo”...

    Ignition problems

^^^^ This Don't forget, both side of each circuit need to be solid. Check the grounds too With it just being hotwired directly to the battery there should be no reason for power to cut when cranking. When using certain circuits in the cab this can happen as some circuits are designed to not...

    Castor shims

Still haven't heard what your toe is set at, @idahovette and @Ricko1966 make good points here toe can really impact how a vehicle handles. Toe is probably the easiest and quickest alignment spec to measure and adjust at home, getting the steering wheel to center is probably the second easiest.

    Brass Valve Stem

If the stems are in good condition any good tire shop should have replacement rubber seals and valves. A little time with a scotch brite pad should give them a nice brushed finish or you could tops them in a vibrating polisher with walnut hulls (like they use for rifle brass) and they will come...

    Hello & Seeking Restoration Info

Welcome from California too… Sorry not much help in directing you to a shop. What overall condition is this thing in? What is your expected outcome from a “restoration”? What is your budget? Depending on the level of work you’re looking for I’d suggest starting local and expanding from there...

    Carpet

Another vote for ACC… I couldn’t find a picture of the tool I made for the carpet holes but, I just sharpened the edge of a piece of pipe. I backed it up with a scrap of 2x4 and smacked it with a hammer. Used an awl to mark the center pulled it out right before punching each of the holes. I...

Fixing and finding backup light wires 78k10

IIRC anything pink under the dash should be hot (+12v) when the ignition is on, anything orange should be hot all the time. Can’t remember back up light wire color off top of my head but I went the other way with transmissions, started SM465 and now have an automatic. I’ll look when I get home...

want to add a return line with duel tanks?

6 port Pollack valve and '87 sending units have provisions for feed, return and vent. Maybe some other years too but not sure. I only changed to go EFI.

    1979 454 C10, Factory Air

I would run factory air if it was mine... My cab had an old aftermarket AC poorly hacked through the firewall, so I went with vintage air for my build. The VA set up is well thought out and seems like quality stuff, but I don't think it has the power of the factory units. IMHO the only bad...
