    I made a little more progress and can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I got to get a buddy to come over to help set my hood without scratching everything. I always use Felpro on mine, no leaks so far.

    Yes standard GM rally with no spacer. I have about an inch between the top of the tire and the inside lip of the wheel well trim.

    I took it on its maiden voyage since I started the restoration. I still have a long way to go but made me feel a little inspired to keep going.

    On my daily I am running 235/70’s on a 7” wheelie front and 255/70’s on 8” wheel out back.

    I’m running 255/70’s on front and 285/70’s in the rear on 8” rallies.

    The gasket is just a thin piece of rubber about a 1/16" thick, but you could easily cut one out of a piece of cork.

    Thanks, It needed a new sets of gaskets so while I had them off I put a new coat of rattle can on them. Your engine looks just like my grandfathers old truck. Just climb in the engine bay have a seat and work away with room to spare.

    I’m looking for a factory oil fill extension tube or whatever it is called. I know most people have done away with them, just hoping someone still has one the may be willing to part with. This one is on an ‘86.

    On my ‘86 the factory corner and tailgate trim is aluminum, the vinyl is going down the side of the truck.
